Will we have a break for Christmas as well?

This is what i think will happen, Five will take 3 weeks breaks every summer and winter and carry on with not being on bank holiday monday's.

As Australia is of-air for 6 weeks at Christmas time, not being on for two weeks we [ uk viewers ] would catch up again, So i think Five would go for that 3 weeks for Christmas as they are now doing for the summer break.

I also think that Fiver will put on more Home and Away specials on Christmas time.

I've noticed Fiver haven't shown many specials this year. last year they showed loads. The ones they are showing at the moment instead of normal H&A are mostly ones that have been on recently (Jack and Martha's wedding) so aren't even worth watching again so soon :( .

It could be, I'm not great with these things but it sounds about right and a very random number, which after all is fives style :P The whole RTE must be two episodes behind five annoys the hell out of me though. <_<

I know how you mean how Five wont allow RTE to catch up.RTE passed out Five by an episode in january and I dont think Five were happy about it .Also for the past few weeks we have been a whole week behind Five but now were only an episode behind after the olympics.

UK is having a 2 week break at christmas. I'm almost certain.

but Aus takes an 8 week break.Which would mean we would only be 3 weeks behind at the most when the 2009 season starts

RTE passed out Seven by an episode and got into very hot water for it - that might be what you're thinking about.

RTE used to be ahead of Five - when did the "European Debut" rule come in?

As far as I'm aware, it's screened for the final time this year on December 19th and then returns on January 5th.

Woah are you sure??last year it finished on november 30th and returned january 28th I think. So if this is true it would only be what not even a 3 week break!!

^^ Is that for Oz? A 3 week break is heaps shorter then it usually is isn't it? I thought it usually starts at the end of jan not the beginning but maybe cos of the olympics they are making it shorter, which is what i hoped they would. That is also about the same times as when Neighbours returns, i think.

I think that's for the UK.

It would be highly perverse not to rig things so that next year's finale was the big 5000th.

Now that sounds right with UK having a short break not AUS.Last year we only took like a 1-2 week break.
