i must commend new zealand on todays efforts!! i think we did pretty well today.. wining 5 medals 2 gold

pretty good considering how small we are..

i must say im loving the gymnastics- the girls all look so young!

Did every one see that sprinter, who broke the world record. He was sooo relaxed. I can't imagine how fast he would be if he actually tried. :lol:

Yeah he was amzazing - he turned off about 30m from the end, and started celebrating!! can't wait to see him in the 200m.

It's to do with money. You get money for breaking the WR, so you want to be able to do it as many times as possible. There was a pole vaulter from Ukraine during the 90's that some of you might remember and he only ever broke his record by 1cm intervals.

^ I thought the same. I saw him slow down then I looked at the clock and thought....mmmmm I see what you're doing! :wink: You can't blame him really. If he ran flat out today I think he would have ran under 9.60 easy.

Sergei Bubka was the pole vaulter's name I think.

I'm SO proud of the kiwi's efforts last night!! They were awesome!! My heart went out to Mahe Drysdale....poor guy looked like he was really suffering. And I have a new found love for Valerie!
