Roccoluver Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Welcome to my thread XD Moving on.... I remember some actress, think it was the woman who plays Irene (I'm sorry, I don't pay attention to cast names, specially since they went off intro thingy..) that once a character becomes married or etc, they becoming boring and it seems the writers reckon the only way to keep relationships interesting is for characters to cheat and have sex with everyone and go in and out of relationships (not that doesn't happen..) But what I want to know is, what is your opinion... I believe that just because characters are dating or married, their story-line's don't have to connected, why can't one character have one storyline and other partner have their own, they would still have scenes with each other, and support and in story lines like cancer, then they would together. But I do think that there need to be endless break up's and make up's , theres many more issues they can deal with... why can't a teen couple move into a flat, then one or both loses their job and they struggle to stay independent.. etc hopefully I have made sense in my rant, what are your views.
Julez Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Some couples do stay together but they usually move away like Robbie & Tash or Scott & Hayley. But I do know what you mean. I guess that's why in the beginning Pippa & Michael had the kids - they were a happy couple and stayed connected with the drama through their foster kids. But the show seems to have moved away from its roots and SB house doesn't really play that role anymore. But I guess Michael still died but Pippa did end up happy again with someone else, although she had to leave. I'm not sure how they get around actors needing to leave.
Daisyap Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Yeah couples never seem to be together very long before one of them dies or they split up or they just both leave the show! Alf and Ailsa are the only pair I can think of who lasted. Dan and Leah were together for quite a while but they weren't used very often. The thing that boggles my mind is how quick they move on from one relationship to the next. When a spouse dies they are often married again within a year!
