Storylines that might have been

I think a sudden departure of a character because the actor sucked or wanted to leave the country to be with their famous partner isn't fair on the writer who spent hours upon hours plotting storylines for the character.

Is that some bitterness I sense in your post over the HIV Storyline being cut short and a slight dig at Sharni or am I reading too much in to itl?

I'm a bitter person sometimes.

I get it, you just wish the HIV storyline could have played out in it's entirety. So do I, as it was really handled well and acted out fantastically by Sharni. But i'm glad they cut it short, as I would have hated it with a recast, as i wouldn't have the same attachment to character.

I was watching some old clips yesterday on Youtube; the beginning of the whole Sarah/Danni/Felix story.

If Danni never wrote that article, more then half the things that have happened in the show wouldn't of been happening in the past three and a half years. Storylines wouldn't have happened and characters wouldn't appear. Just off the top of my head: Dan wouldn't have come because Peter wouldn't be in a coma. No Drew after Peter's "death" from the stalker sequel. No Amanda, Jazz. No stalker stories. Kim and Kit wouldn't have been pregnant. Cake Girl wouldn't have been blown up... The list is endless

When you think about it, that story has influenced alot of what is happening in today's show.

That's true, Dani's actions in 2004 had a huge influence on the storylines for the next two or three years.

About two years ago, as part of a complicated alternate universe saga I may actually get around to writing one day, I came up with a scenario that involved the Sutherlands never coming to the Bay(not that I've got anything against them, it's just I wanted the caravan park to be run by a couple who shall remain nameless because they don't exist, so they never bought it).Having just reviewed my notes, I can see:No stalker, except there is because I had Eve not meeting Sarah, not going mad and being a productive member of society.No Dan, which resulted in Leah joining Vinnie in witness protection.No Dani, so Scott got together with Hayley a lot earlier leaving Noah free for Kit.(Kim was still with Rachel at the time.)Also, since Dani never met Viv Alf never found out Ric was his grandson so I had him and Matilda still together but as the unlikeable characters they were when we first met them.Interestingly, not only did I have Drew there(albeit living with Nameless Couple, suggesting he and Peter didn't get on)but also Belle, when if you think about it she came to the Bay to find Amanda so she shouldn't be there either.Oh well, guess you just have to blame it all on the waves of time.

I keep thinking that in a few years time Rory (hopefully less annoying!!) could come back as a stalker for Jack or his family for revenge for Sam, but that poss wont happen!

Adam, you do realise that if Sharni hadn't left and the story had played out as planned, they would have brought Jules back? Is that really what you would have wanted?

If a recast is involved I won't mind.

i agree dylan may not have looked 'good enough' but what was so bad bout Kit?! i think she was pretty enough for the show. if a bit different.

This is a matter of opinion. I thought Dylan was pretty hot, I never thought Kit was but I loved her as a character which attracted me to her. And Cassie was DEFINIATELY NOT ugly.
