Izzy H Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 One word .... Diversity They are by far my best act so far this series. Flawless was good in the first episode but Diversity has definately topped their performance. That 10 year old girl she was good but I was expecting her to be much better. If she gets through to the live shows which I think she will do, they should change this whole balerina image I think. I wonder if they got rid of Kelly Brook because she was too nice. I just felt that she wanted to put everyone through to the next stage even if their act was totally rubbish and she always gave the acts really nice comments even of they were not deserved.
Izzy H Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Excuse the two posts in a row. This weeks episode was nothing special again. I have more fun watching Stephen Mulhern on Britains Got More Talent. I am still routing for Diversity and Flawless. The whole media surrounding Susan Boyle is really starting to annoy me now, I thought it was great at first because she was getting the respect for her excellent performance on the show, but now it getting stupid by saying she is going to appear in I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. Come on, someone with that talent would not need to go on a reality show especially when she is new to the industry. Even if Simon does not sign her up someone else definately will. Again with her image, who cares what she looks like, a talent is a talent at the end of the day and changing the image is not going to get rid of that talent.

I read that and it was very carefully worded. It basically was Ant and Dec saying "wouldn't it be great if "- and the papers then running of at a tangent. Susan has no need to do I'm a celeb - the only people who do are individuals who need a career kick start/re start. Susan hardly needs that, so I would take it with a pinch of salt if I were you, actually a whole case of salt . The newspapers have indeed gone mad, but one can not blame Susan for that either, and it seems she is avoiding the media of late. Every week I read that some new act is going to beat her. They have to say this to keep the integrity of the competition alive, otherwise there is no competition. All of them are getting exposure, the cute kids, the violinist, the dancers, the sax player, the singers - so they will all work if they are any good. The trouble is some of them don't want work they want fame which is a different matter. I did think one of the kids early on, who was already doing a lot of stage and TV work was saying " I want to be famous" and for him that was the goal. For Susan - it's "I want to sing, " for Diversity and Flawless it's "we want to dance " and therein lies the difference.

To be honest I did not even read the article, I just saw the headline and dismissed it instantly. I was annoyed with it because it is obviously unlikely to happen and the fact that they plastered it all over the front page when there are much more serious stories going on in the world was just selfish. Your right, that Susan can't be blamed for the media hype surrounding her, it just makes me angry that one feels the need to sell stories regarding a new hair colour and the fact she had her eyebrows done.
Lesley Bee Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 I loved the welsh guy that was on at the end of saturday's show, he was amazing and he seemed like such a nice person as well
lino Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 I loved the welsh guy that was on at the end of saturday's show, he was amazing and he seemed like such a nice person as well The news is, that he lied. He did already perform in front of a audience of 1000 ppl. He claims he didn't lie since he was with a band, and BGT is the first time, as a solo artist. So it seems very wierd, they way he behaved on stage.
I love music Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I think we can safely say, so far, we've narrowed the finalists down to: Diversity, Flawless, Susan Boyle, the guy who sang the Les Miserables song last week, the little boy who did the "Oliver" song and the little girl who sang extremely well and did some ballet (Have I missed anyone out? ) What's really sad tho are the terrible acts that go on stage. I mean, we all know by know that they're only sent through to the TV audition if they're exceptionally good OR exceptionally bad (the so-so acts never make it). I used to be convinced once that the terrible acts were all actors paid to pretend to be a wannabe TV star! Don't their family and friends tell them they can't sing or can't dance or whatever...?
Mrs Bishop Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 I think this show has gone as far as it can last nights ep was as bad as they come with a farting peformer how obscene.
Izzy H Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 After watching last night I have the say how rubbish it was. However, I have noticed that they are showing more bad acts than good acts, and even when they show good acts we have 5 second clips of them. That is where I think they are going wrong. Fair enough, the audition process is full of bad and good talents which is what the auditions are about but why not split the hour long show into half of the good talents and half of the bad talents. No act stood out last night from the main clips however I did notice a dance act that looked good from what I saw.
I love music Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 I just caught up with last night's show. It really was scraping the bottom of the barrel with some of those acts. The last guy, Sean Smith the singer, was excellent but we all knew he was going to be...they always save the very best act till last now after showing a run of very bad ones. Maybe it's time they showed more of the good acts who get through and less of the terrible ones, the formula's becoming a bit jaded. I wonder if the Queen watches the TV show crying with laughter or thinking "Goodness, does one seriously expect one to be entertained by that?" I wonder if she votes in the finals?!!
