These are all good, but my vote goes to #3. I think the frame-thing gives a really good effect, makes it look like she's running even more as it to me looks almost like a small sand-storm.

The cap used is also really good, it's really clear concidering that she's running. I also like the natural and warn colouring, the cropping with Mattie on the side, and the fact that the avatar isn't sharpened too much.

#3 - The off centre cropping suits this av as it gives it a lot more ... space? You can see a lot of the surrounding dunes The border is a nice touch too.

I like #3 but in the end I chose #1 I like that the artist has done something new with the border, it's a bit more original.

I love this icon. There is just something about it that WOW's me. The beach, plus the running Matilda gives you a sense of isolation and loss. I know that's not the subject, but it's nice that you can get all those themes in one icon, but still have the beach as a dominant theme. Did I make sense? I don't think I did, I've confused myself.
