Great entries!

# 1 - The cropping is excellent on this...very well done. I love the very faint blueyness to her hair, that looks super. Adding the black border works really well and suits it perfectly.

# 2 - I love the b/w photo thats been added. It really explains whats going on in the avatar. This is also helped by the descriptive text, which is simple but great.

# 3 - Central cropping sometimes doesn't work, but for this one it definately does! The text is perfect. The size, the font, everything works really well. I love the little 'orangey' glow around the text...thats awesome.

# 4 - Loving the style of this one. The repeated picture effect has been done superbly. The colouring is nice and light too. Its a really great avatar!

# 5 - Awww...the text is really sad but very well chosen. I love the font...its really curvey and it couldn't go better with the curvey border.

All of them are amazing, but my vote goes to......# 3 .It was a tough choice between that and # 2. I just love everything about #3 so thats why it gets my vote .

#1 - nice use of colour and emotion.

#1 - I like the simplicity of it. It isn't too over saturated and I like the way it is cropped to emphasise the emotion.

#1 - Nice simple colouring and cropping. Border adds a nice touch.

First off, guys - all the entries are fantastic! This one's a tough one...

#1 is really effective and simple, and the cap. itself is awesome. I especially like the blue-ish glow on Cassie's hair and eyes. However, I think it's a bit too simple for my liking.

I love #2! Not only is Maddie's expression captured perfectly, but I also love the colouring of it. I also love the way that the two fonts have been used together.

I also agree that the central cropping on #3 works very well in this icon. I also love the small, red-glow, text; however, I think the strange texture (at least that's what it seems to be - the 'stripy-ness') lets it down sowewhat.

I love the original cap. of Matilda that's been used in #4. I think it's a perfect, emotional, picture. However, there's something about the way in which the picture has been repeated and then put together that doesn't quite sit right with me. Although it's a lovely icon, I feel that the way the two images have been placed together doesn't look quite sleek enough.

Entry #5 works well in theory - I like the idea of having a 'snapshot' of their emotion. I also like the fact that it's surrounded by black. However, I don't think that the text looks right on it. Maybe it's because it's both top and bottom and it's quite big, it sorta detracts from the cap. I'm also not a huge fan of the font.

Ugh, sorry, guys - I feel like I've been such a bitch! All the entries are honestly fantastic; it's just that I wanna give you all feedback and also that I seriously have to nitpick to find fault with any of them!

So, my vote goes to #2.

I like contrast in this one, it's not too strong, making the more contrasted B/W "polaroid" stand out.

I also really like the text. The words are good, the fonts are nice and suits the avatar, and the way the two sentences have been placed kind of over each other really gives the avatar a nice touch.

All avatars are good though, hard to choose
