charmed60 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 They're all fantastic icons! It's really hard to choose! Icon 1 - I love how the creator has Brax in black and white but the lampshade in color. I think that's really clever and makes it unique. Icon 2 - The blue of Charlie's dressing gown is really prominent in this which I loved and the cropping is really clever. I was a bit confused about the item in the right of the icon - I'm not sure if it's the same lampshade in the Brax icon superimposed on the table? It's a bit unclear and distracting however the bright blueness of Charlie's gown makes that the immediate focus point which means it doesn't matter so much. Icon 3 - The colours are stunning in this icon, the use of Lucas without having him as the main focus was really cleverly done and I love the brightness of all the different colours here. Seeing as the icon contest was meant to be based on the interior of a house I'm going to make my decision based on that and the person I think has worked with this theme the most is icon 3. The interior of the house becomes the main focus due to the cropping which blends the character into the interior. They're all stunning though
HighwayUnicorn Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Number One: I think this one is gorgeous with the black & white effect. It works really well & is effective. It's different to the other two & black & white is rarely seen now, especially in these contests. So it definitely made a nice difference. Number Two: I like this one, the blue colouring on Charlie's dressing gown really vibrant & bold & standing out. I love how it contrasts the rest of the picture. The other colours compliment the other ones which is really nice. Number Three: This one's really beautiful & I think that the colouring is perfect. Lucas is not the main focus which works beautifully, yet he's acting like an 'object within the picture which I love. Verdict: I love all of them & a lot of effort has clearly been put into them. But the one I am voting for is number three.
