I've written some of the summaries, but I'm not in charge of uploading the whole feature - Ryan takes care of that. The rest of the staff and myself often natter in the staff room over how and when features should be uploaded, but Ryan is cheif MPC man, I guess you could say! I do have the powers to upload to the main site, but I'm sticking to the easier things to upload at the moment! Oh, and I don't think you're moaning :D .

The results to these polls are always interesting... and people always express surpise that X figures at such a such a position... because they did not rate them ...... or because they rated them more highly .... the top 5/6 are usually ones where there is pretty much agreement and you won't get much surprise expressed....... thankfully.... however. .. a lot of people vote in thse polls and many of them are people who don't often... some rarely.. post on the forum... so their views as to who is the best character might not be widely known.... we all know for example that emassi love Robbie and Kim... that Ryan loves Gypsy and Matilda ... that Jack Wilkins loves Sally (and Sam :P) .... that certain members love Jack and Martha... my previous Paris avatar was a bit of a give away too :wub : :P ...... for others we can only guess what their favourites might have been had we not had this poll .... the range of votes was quite diverse... Ryan will no doubt tell us the number of characters voted for.... I am sure it was well over 100 ...... Have the top few remained more or less the same throughout our poll series? .... thats the question.... you will have to wait to find out :P

I actually loved this latest batch, 16-20, and I agree that all of them deserve to be as high up on the list as they are. It seems most of them didn't fulfill their potential on the show, which may explain why they are so high up despite having left a couple of years ago. I think Robbie was great as a character, but also the untapped potential for romance bromance between him and Kim has helped to keep his popularity up. Emmasi I'm looking at you!

Similarily between Barry and Irene the full potential of the relationship was never tapped. Not to mention the fact that he was extremely attractive for a man of his age. What is it about those Hyde men? I shudder to think what Archie Hyde will be like in 18 years!!!

You know technically Robbie and Kit share the same genes, so Archie would be the closest thing possible to Robbie and Kim having a biological son. Oh yeah. That's hot.

11-15 is a bit of a mixed batch.

Morag is wonderful and deserves to be further up the list.

It's difficult for me to express and opinion on Noah. I watched the show while he was on it, but for the life of me I can't remember a thing about him. He just left absolutely no impression on me whatsoever. I think it has something to do with the fact that I never really liked Hayley, and took very little interest in any of her storylines, a lot of which invoved Noah. Also, he was there during the Dani/Gypsy years so he was probably a bit overshadowed by them. Even during the Felix and Sarah storyline I can't remember what he got up to(besides getting murdered), and he was arguably one of the main players in that storyline after Dani. I guess I'll just have to take everyone's word for it that he was a great character.

Angie was great, but should she really be this far up? She's a contender for the Best Villain crown, but I can think of other characters more deserving of a place in the top 20.

What the hell is Lucas doing at number 14? I would bet anything he'll be way further down on the next MPC poll. The best thing the writers could have ever done with him is have him shag Ric, and they didn't even do that. Bloody time-waster!

Rachel fully deserves her place in the top 20. I love the portrayal of an intelligent, successful, well-rounded character, who has flaws, but can recognise them, and has the ability to sense when a friend needs help. I love how controlled she is during a crisis(LOST aside). Now if only she could get out of that awful, cringe-worthy relationship with Tony.

^Angie was one of the most (if not the most in the eyes of some) complex and well written character the show has even seen. Beyond the realms of blowing people up, shooting them or holding them hostage Angie was a true genius of a villian - choosing rather to go down the route of psychological torment and manipulation and never losing her cool, until the very moment at which she needed to keep it most (when she being filmed, for exposure). She could never have known this, but I think what was great about her was that while she got right under Nick's skin, he too got right under hers in a completely different way....

.....anyway this is probably for another thread now, I've strayed far too far off the point! But needless to say the layers that went into Angie and the psychology of her more than warrant her a place this far up.

I think it's important that whilst the list will generally equate to the quality of the character, as it is measuring the most popular character, there will be variances, for instance someone like Lucas scoring well despite people like Ed not liking him and others that are generally well liked, say Colleen, but they don't actually like her *that* much.
