Bareenfan Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Well either would be a popular win, both are popular characters, for very different reasons, but current sentiment demands Sally comes first I think. I am pleased to see that Irene is still there in the hearts of long term fans, and in those of newer fans, despite being so woefully neglected by the writers in the last years or so. I am sure she will be up here in 1st or 2nd place again in 2010. Thanks for all the work that has gone into this feature.

Irene and Sally clearly hold a special place in the hearts of our members, which places them head and shoulders above all the others.

Everyone I voted for this time, or considered voting for, will have been long long LONG gone, with the possible exception of Ric. This year I think I voted for: Robbie Kim Lucas Ric Corey I also wanted Tasha and Dan. So assuming this poll is done again in 2009, Robbie will have been gone for 3 years, Kim for 2, Lucas and maybe Ric for 1, and Corey for 5 I can see Aden bumping someone from that list, but who?? And what of Geoff, Roman, and Miles? What of them???? It's going to be very difficult indeed. Oh, and Jazz... I need a top 10. Or the option of half votes lol.

That's OK I won't shoot you. I like Irene and Sally, You don't have to like everyone that I like any more than I have to like every one that you like. I also love Kit by the way A lot of people voted for characters who have not been on the show for years so the fact that Irene has not had a big story line since Corey is not really relevant, they are looking at the bigger picture, and Irene won the very first most popular character they did on this site in 2004, so she hasn't lost her popularity with long term fans. I reckon there will be six or seven who will be in the top 10 to 20 no matter what , people like Alf, Morag, Vinnie and Gypsy are going to be there. If Jack and Martha have left the show the next time this is done, then characters like Aden, Roman and Miles are going to be in there where they are now, just like Kirsty and Kane were last time, along with other new characters, but I would be very surprised if Sally and Irene were not near the top again. They may not be every single fan's favorite, but they are popular with a lot of people.
