Two hander or single character episodes

I'm not sure if it counts as I've never seen the episodes of EastEnders you're referring to, but didn't they do something siilar to that in the 2003 episode where Dani hit Kane with her car (I think the episode was given the title "Take back the night")?

I remember that Dani kind of told the story like a narrator during that episode. I think Hayley, Scott, Ross McLuhan (Dani's professor) and Kane was in the episode as well, but as far as I remember the entire episode was deidcated to Dani's story about how she hit Kane with her car that night, and it was mostly Dani narrating while we followed her on her way back from Ross' house.

That was single story but had a few characters in it I think, but it was a great episode, I think it was "Turn back the night."

I like the idea of them doing something different - "occasionally" - to grab our attention and to make a point, the episodes you mention are memorable because they were different from the usual ones. If we had lots of them they wouldn't be memorable. I think they would need to be careful who they used, and what story line they chose, because the audience is pretty fickle. A lot of the shallower viewers were turned off by the Enders Dot episode, they didn't get it, and didn't appreciate June browns acting. A lot did though, and you can't please 100% of the viewers. I'd love to see them try it occasionally.

Now that we know Kirsty and Kane are returning, I'd love to see Irene and Kirsty talking abut their other half being in prison, whilst also seeing Kane and Barry in prison - that could be good.

I'd like to see Colleen do one , she would be funny and could also do tragic as well. There is a lot of scope really when you think about it.

i think the only person who could pull off a single character episode would be sally...she's a character that everyone loves, she's in between the old and the young age groups, and most importantly, she is undoubtedly the best actress in the soap, she's convincing in every way AND she's proabably the only character i know who's affected me in EVERY emotional scene, be that anger or sadness, while with others, it would depend on what mood i was in or whether they just made me laugh...i think she'd be captivating.
