Out of the Blue

This week's episodes are certainly picking up the pace eh? Brilliant stuff!

Yes it has been quite an eventful week.

Detective Wilson cracked me up when Tracey went to the police station to give Jarrod an alibi. It was just the way when she told him that she was watching a documentary at around 9:00pm and he could check the TV guide and he replied “I’m sure you’ve got it right!”. Silly woman, he knew you were lying.

If Ray Churchill killed himself then I think that was a bit of a cope out by the writers. According to Debra he wanted her to end his life. I suppose that could be plausible because if he didn’t kill Philby then the person that did would probably be after him so rather than wait for them to turn up and finish the job he might have wanted to just get if over with. I have to ask myself though why wasn’t there a police guard outside his room whilst he was being treated. Leaving him on his own like that was just asking for trouble.

One of the things I like about Debra is for the most part she is extremely controlled. Even when detective Wilson was questioning her she seemed extremely calm, collected and confident. And when he stated that she left Ray there to die, I loved her response “I simply left him to his fate…”

I’m still not sure what to make of this whole thing with Daniel and Lucia. Following on from the end of last week, Daniel has been extremely calm compared to his normal behaviour (e.g. when Staffo grabbed him by his shirt and he didn’t even react). Again, unrecognisable from before. They are obviously trying to give hints by him throwing the car keys in the water that he was somehow involved in his brother’s killing but I will reserve judgment. I definitely think there’s been a sudden change in Lucia’s opinion. When she fessed up to Paul about lending Daniel her keys she seemed to have serious reservations about him and now because he put her up for a hotel room for a night with no strings attached all logic and reasoning has gone out the window, or does he really have that much control over her. Maybe something else has happened.

The best episode of this week for me was definitely the one where Blade kidnapped Kristen and Becka tried to help her. That completely changed my opinion of her especially when he twisted his knee and she went back to help him (after everything he done which included when he zapped her with a TASER). To be honest I think a lot of people would have left him there. And I really liked the scene at the hospital when Blade thanked her and admitted she was a better person than he was. I think Kirsten’s ok now. She’s actually kind of cute. :D I said it before but she reminds me so much of Matilda especially during her early days on Home and Away and I’m really enjoying the scenes with her and Becka.

Peta and Poppi are so boring. All they ever seem to do is argue. I wish the writers would just break them up so I don’t have to watch anymore of this. They are both far better when they are in scenes with other characters. I’m not sure not to make of her husband, as most of the cast in this show he’s obviously up to something. It did bring a smile to my face when he came in the morning after the party and when Poppy saw him she had a face like a wet weekend.

I felt really sorry for Emily when she tried to kiss Addo and he backed off. She’s such a nice person and she looked really upset. Addo, I hope you’re proud of yourself!!!!

Tess was brave squaring up to Daniel like that but he’s Mr passive at the moment.

And another shock. Philby leaving all his money to Jarrod. What on earth is going on? Although I suppose by now Out of the Blue is a show where generally we have to learn to expect the unexpected…

Yay Slade, you now see what I mean! I'm sure a lot of people would have left him there, and I had tears in my eyes when he thanked her. I thought Bec was some kind of superwoman, saving her 'step daughter' and also the bloke who attacked them. When Blade was chasing them thru the woods, I thought 'oh no, here we go. Another monstrous unbelievable un-killable character.' But they decided not to make him into that, and instead revealed he was in fact just a mixed up kid. Realistic yet shocking for the right reasons.

I thought Kirsten was like Matilda too.

Yes, I remember thinking "What the?" when I heard Jarrod was getting all the money!

I love the way this show constantly managed to surprise you in a positive and intriguing way, it never seems false and yet the surprises keep coming. I thought I was good at prediciting soap storylines until I watched this show!

One I did manage to work out in advance though was the whole Daniel and Lucia thing, ever since Paul and Lucia made their pact to pretend they were going out together, I picked it. About the only time I was right though!!!

Now am I right in thinking 'Blade' now plays Brendan in Home and Away? Amazing actor!

Really? I didn’t even recognise him. There seems to be a mass influx of OOTB actors in H & A at the moment.

At times Addo cracks me up. I had to laugh at his embarrassment after Jarrod and Traci caught him out and he had lipstick on his face. Also when he got up on the bar and announced that he and Emily were an item.

Kyle needs to just drop this thing with Lucia and just let her be. Kyle you can’t force someone to like you mate.

It didn’t bother me too much Kirsten telling Paul about Gabbi’s pregnancy. I thought that was quite perceptive of her to cop on in the first place but she is the scheming type. The only thing was I think she should have just stayed out of it or maybe spoken to Becka and or Gabi first and let her tell him. I do think she was doing it to get back in Paul’s good books maybe because she still likes him.

I’m so fed up of this whole Peta/Poppy/Marcus thing and it’s only just started. And I find Poppy quite tiresome now. She’s sanctimonious, highly strung, generally annoying and the way she didn’t even bother to check with Peta what happened when Marcus came out of their room. I understand she automatically thought the worst because of her paranoia regarding Marcus but she just had to make it all about her. Get over yourself!

It’s funny last week I said last week that my opinion of Becka was completely changed after the stuff that happened with Blade and Kirsten as I didn’t like her at first. But now I find that after really liking Traci for the most up to this point as although she was insecure, always came across as good natured, sweet, pleasant etc, I find that I’m really not sure about her now.

When Becka first turned up we saw her display this massive inferiority complex as she felt there was still unresolved stuff between her and Jarrod. She sought counselling and when she found out about the ring she panicked for the main reason that Jarrod didn’t tell her about it, which made her suspect that something was going on between them. Ok so that was resolved eventually. Now cut to the wedding. Again Jarrod didn’t tell her that he helped Becka out that night but I bought his reason that he didn’t want her hurt her due to the nature of her personality. So when Traci stormed of and Jarrod went after her (after his quiet word with Detective Wilson), I again ended up feeling sorry for her. And then we find out why Philby left a vast sum of money to Jarrod because he was Zoe’s biological father. I can’t believe that Traci kept it from him, I assuming from the duration of their marriage. This throws a completely different light on things and her “You keep secrets” line to him on the peer had to be one of the single most hypocritical statements ever made. And then when he came back from the police station (after practically begging detective Wilson to keep quiet) I had to laugh at her tone when she asked him why he didn’t tell her and that had to tell each other everything. I find myself wondering how sly and cunning this woman really is. Jarrod I don’t blame as much because although he knew about Zoe he was doing it to protect his daughter. But Traci you could argue was doing it for her own selfish reasons.

Isn’t Detective Wilson just brilliant? I just loved the way he turned up announced at Jarrod’s place to question Traci, stood there holding the picture of Zoe and his line “Cute kid, you can see where she get her looks from” then immediately Jarrod got all defensive. The whole dialogue between him and Traci was great her reaction in that scene had me grinning. The way she called him “Wilson” and blamed him for ruining her wedding day and the general manner in which she was speaking to him. That brought a smile to my face. Part of me was hoping that he would just come clean and tell Traci that Jarrod knew all along. But already we can see this whole week has showed a slightly different side to her personality which could be interesting.

Debra. She’s another character I really enjoy watching. When Steven claimed she didn’t have a conscience after she appeared emotionless initially when it was thought Daniel left Kyle and Lucia after the accident, I loved her comeback with the same line regarding Kyle when Lucia fessed up. And she played an absolute blinder with Thomas. That was indeed a masterstroke but it looked as though she’d met her match. No worry she may have lost the battle but she’ll win the war.

OOTB is quite unusual for me because with soaps I don’t really enjoy the older characters. In this case two of my favourites, Debra and Detective Wilson fall into that category.

And, did you see dear old Detective Wilson playing Trey's dad in HAA yesterday?

I like to see what you think Slade, it reminds me of what I thought when watching OOTB. Oh how I wish they'd make another series, it is so clever.

I want to say that you are thinking the right things about one situation but I can't!

Does anyone know what episode number the UK are on now, and how many til they find out who the murderer is?

Yip, its not too far to the murderer is revealed now. The eps on this week on Fiver are 51-55 and the revelations should start coming towards the end of next week with the mindblowing reveal at the beginning of the following week. Some cast members find out the truth in ep.61 but the audience doesn't find out to ep. 62. This is an episode that should be recorded for posterity by anyone reading this. This is one of the best episodes of soap I have ever seen in any series. You have been warned - you will DEFINATELY want to watch ep 62 again and again and again!

I have a little rage about the episode from 2 nights ago...

I hated the way Gabby & Bec treated Poppy and I can understand why she was suspicious of them. They were acting so shifty and bitchy towards her at a time when she needs her friends. Poppy is obviously doubting everything since finding out that Peta was married.

Poor Poppy :(

Yes, poor Poppy is right. And don't forget about the gun incident with Jarrod at the waterfront - she also thinks she has just witnessed one of her best friends shoot a man in cold blood!

Ooh ooh ooh! It was so exciting when we found out the murderer, wasn't it? But also sickening and shocking
