Beth!

Can some one please tell me what happened to Beth? I missed those episodes due to being

away for a long duration of time.

Well, she died in a car accident, a truck (i think?) hit her car.

To add more detail she had been away travelling the world and seeing Rob/Tash and Scott/Hayley in Europe. She was due back and Tony and co were preparing for her return when Jack was contacted by his boss to be brief for a RTA. We cut to the scene of the crash and Tony drives up to talk to Jack who then tells him to stay back cos he needs to tell him something. Before he can say anymore a body bag is wheeled nearby and one arm is hanging out, from the watch and the style of top Tony instantly identifies Beth. He runs towards her yelling Noooooooo! (By now we're in slow-mo) Jack restrains him and the ep ends with them both struggling and crying.

Fairly obviously Clarissa didn't return for the storyline hence the one arm being all we see, the travelling presumably was a ruse so the writers could wait till a 'better' time to kill her off.

Since Beth there hasnt been anyone similar to her, you had Shelley and then along came Beth. I loved both of them, they need a new mum similar to them!!!

I agree every soap needs a real mum type character

Morag seems to be getting softer and more maternalish to some of the younguns. Also Tony seems to have become more of a male mum-figure lately if you know what I mean.
