Does anyone here NOT like Jack and Martha?

I think they ruined any potential they had with all of the on off nonsense. They certainly killed it off for me, and so it would seem for others. I really like Martha with Micheal, he would have been the making of that girl and she would have finally grown up, but for some reason the writers seem intent on milking this particular set up until there is nothing left. I think this is not fair to the characters or the story line. I find it quite alienating, as others have said. They have always done things like this, and they always will, its a soap basic, but the extent to which they do it with Jack and Martha exceeds that to which they have done it before. I think they have crossed the line.

However, I will always treasure the initial misconceptions which I had about them.

What I dislike the most about them, is the fact that none of them seem to care who they hurt as long as they are happy; especially Martha <_< In Norway they are only friends now, and I must say that I prefer that over what’s going on right now. Bring back the good friendship they had and stop thinking that J&M are your "golden couple", writers! More and more people have lost interest in them, me included <_<

I hate how so many characters have been brought in just as guests simply to suit the ongoing J&M saga, Corey, Ash, Cam, Sam, Rory, Michael. None of them were introduced to the show as new characters with the potential to develop, and, if things didn't work out with Jack or Martha, be allowed to stay around and develop new storylines separate from them. But no, they just have to stick around until they've done what the writers want them to do by either bringing J&M futher together or driving them further apart, and after that they are considered useless. I don't just dislike Jack and Martha I absolutely HATE them, and whenever the day comes that they leave the Bay, whether its together or apart or by dying, I will have a huge party because I will finally be able to enjoy the show I love so much. 2005 to 2008 will be dark days in Summer Bay in my memory.

I can not bear them. they are horrendous. Over hyped, annoying, cloying, stupid, argumentative, no chemistry, and a cheap marketing ploy manufactured to con the viewers. As someone said in another thread a lot of fans jump on the band wagon so they are in with the "in" crowd. Its pathetic. The sooner they are gone the better, they are dominating things far too much. If they were given a balanced and proportionate amount of air time in fair proportion to other characters on the show I could live with it, but they are not. The Jack and Martha will they wont they sagais just dreadful and is worse than the Hayley and Scott one. I now cringe when they are on. As you can surely guess, I hate them.

Wow! I love this thread. I agree. They are just too much. I cringe when they are on, they are dreadful. I like good couples, but they are not a good couple. I loved Gypsy and Will, Vinnie and Leah, Nick and Jade, Shane and Angel, they all had chemistry, all these two do is simper or argue, and its dreadful.

What annoys me the most is that it would seem the fans are only in it for the "I survived the golden couple of Home and Away" T-Shirt. I don't understand it, I've tried, but I just don't, I was 14 when they got together and I thought they were absolutely horrendus and contrived, I was a kid and I could still see them for what they were!

There was a scene in a recent aus episode, Jack enters the room, Martha gets depressed. That's all they EVER do! Cuteness (that reason for liking a couple is bad enough if you ask me), what bloody cuteness, they HATE eachother half the time, they argue, they cry, they make eachother feel uncomfortable. I'm sure the writers have recognised them as shallow and they've tried to break them up, twice, but the fans won't have it!! Back off before I chase you off with sticks and other threatening items!! I don't want the show I grew up with getting any more destroyed by THE worst creation in televised history. But good on all the fans of J&M who have moved on from them!!! From the way some people talk it must be like giving up smoking three times over!

That has to be the most intelligent posts about Jack and Martha that I have seen on this site. I agree entirely. Cuteness? What cuteness? They are an abomination.
