At least Sam tries to meet Jack half way and they have a more balanced relationship. With Martha it's all me me me.

I can see where Martha's high maintenance, but Sam's definitely not any better. At least with Martha, Jack was allowed to blame her sometimes when things went wrong. With Sam, he's only ever allowed to blame himself, because Sam can do no wrong.

Well, I can’t say that I’m a hater of J&M, but I don’t really love them either. I loved them as a couple before they got married. They jumped in to marriage way too fast and I think that ruined what they had.

Now, I’m hoping for M&M to stay together and Sam to stop being such a controlfreak, so J&S can be happy together.

I was looking at some of my old posts, as I have not posted for a while, and we were having this discussion over a year ago. Some things never change. My thoughts remain pretty much the same. I wanted to like them when they arrived, and thought some of their early matey friendship was very good. When the writers forced the relationship was when it went wrong. It then became on of the shallowest relationships they have ever had, and remains so. At one point the message given out seemed to be that physical passion is the be all and end all and that is an apalling message to give out. They have further compounded the problem and polarised viewers with this incessant on off story line. I did not think any thing would beat the Kim Hayley Scott triangle in the absolutely ridiculous, how to annoy viewers and wear them down so they are throwing things at the TV because they are so fed up stakes, but I was wrong. I find some of Martha's acting and her scenes with Jonah show vast improvements and I like her much more than I did, but Jack and Martha as a couple are now becoming a bit of a joke in our house. In fact they have been for quite a while.

I suspect there are a lot who are fed up but in the face of lashings of and out pourings of adoration many daren't say.

I would like to say for the record that I think they are nauseatingly dreadful. Never in the entire history of the show has a couple annoyed and alienated me more than these two have. They have no chemistry and they are over hyped , they are painful to watch , and I really think they are risking destroying the show with this constant Jack and Martha crap. If it doesn't end soon they are risking loosing a lot of long term viewers. I accept I am not going to like every story line and every character , and always have done , but they have been rammed down our throats in the extreme. I feel they totally lost perspective with these two. Its got to the point where I cant bear to watch when they are on. I have never felt like that when I didn't like a character before.

Totally agree, they are massively over rated. It would be nice if some of the more under rated characters were given half as much airtime.

They are one of those couples where the less I see of them the more I like them.

In other words, at present I can't I cant stand them.
