I just wanted to know, because lots of people here say they love these two characters. Whereas I really dislike Martha and am indifferent to Jack.

Please don't think I'm trying to start an argument, I just wanted to know if there are any other people who don't like this couple :)

There used to be a war. The love and the hate was strong on both sides. Then it went on for so long and got so out of hand that everyone stopped caring :P.

I used to hate Martha, and was indifferent to Jack. Then I liked them getting together because they were cute and funny. Then once they were together they were stupid and annoying, and the war between the faithful and unbelievers didn't help anything... so I ending up hating them both. Then when they seperated I liked Jack and hated Martha, because Martha made Jack cry... Then Martha started pole dancing... ... ... Long story short, I like them both now :P. I don't really want them back together because I don't want them to be stupid and annoying again... but maybe, if it'll get rid of Sam... My hatred is currently focussed on Sam <_<

I agree wtih emmasi, I much prefer them apart than as a couple. They do have good on screen chemistry and I love their friendly banter but the whole seesaw with one of them trying to get the other back is getting so old. I'm a firm supporter of a Rachel/Jack union so I don't want to see him with Martha again! I love them as friends and the worst thing that could happen would be for them to get back together.

I dislike them both, together as well as each individually and the more they are on screen the more I dislike them. I used to like Martha in the beginning but I disliked Jack from day one.

These are interesting views :) Especially the idea of Jack and Rachel getting together. My first thought was 'isn't Jack a bit young for her?' Then I thought 'Doh! Her last husband was about 10 years younger than her!' So we will see what happens...

I prefer Rachel and Hugh, or Rachel and Tony at a push, but that's just me...

Trust me, the JM-hating contingent is very strong on this board (and yes, I am one of the many...). Stick around and you'll soon see for yourself!

Yes, I'd like to see Rachel with Hugh. I really liked Hugh when he was in the series, I hope he does come back and sweep Rachel off her feet.

I'm glad to see not everyone is besotted with Martha and Jack. I think my favourite female characters are Irene, Rachel and Leah: definitely not Martha!

I detest Jack and Martha and much prefer Jack away from her. Jack has actually begun to interest me far more since he ditched Martha. When he is with her he becomes annoying, irritating, stupid and gormless. Some couples are not meant to be and they are one such. On his own he is OK. The same with Martha. I don't particularly get why everyone raves about her but agree with emmasii that the pole dancing thing was quite good, and she and Jonah seem to strike sparks off each other. I get the impression the original Jack and Martha shippers are clinging onto there love more out of habit than anything but I may be wrong., but they seem to like Martha and Jonah a lot too.

I must be on of the few people who likes Sam. I know she moans a bit, but no more than Rachel or Leah, less in fact, and yet they don't seem to have copped this much hate. I think if I had spent years running from a psychotic guy who was determined to kill me and steal my son I would be a bit paranoid and insecure, and would cling on to the guy I loved like a limpet. She is no where near as bad as Rachel was with Kim and with far more excuse, and her discussions with Jack are far more grown up than Jack and Martha's talks. Martha just goes into an adolescent strop when she does not get her own way with Jack , does not listen and behaves like a brat. It annoys the hell out of me and makes me want to slap her as it gives women a bad name. She doesn't seem to do it with any one else. Basically Jack and Martha bring out the worst in each other.

Basically Jack and Martha bring out the worst in each other.

That's something that i've often thought myself. Jack and Martha are quite different when you think about it. Jack loves his job and he's very dedicated and commited to being a cop whereas Martha, when her and Jack were married, just wanted them to be together all the time...which was undertandable considering they'd only just got married and everything. I completely agree with your point about them bringing out the worst in each other. For the short time that they were married, they very rarely agreed on anything.

I liked Jack and Martha as a couple...they were sweet and fun, especially in the beginning. Maybe they could have worked, if Jack hadn't of put his career before his marriage and if Martha had been less 'Martha-ish' :P.

So, in answer to the topic title...yes, I think there are quite a few people here that can't stand Jack and Martha, whether that be as individual characters or as a couple.

I used to love them to death, right up until Sam came back and turned Jack into a lying spineless pansy and slaughtered his sense of humour and personality. Thats when I started thinking, why would I want Martha with that? And then Michael came along wearing white robes and a halo because he looks like a saint compared to Martha's other boyfriends (and Martha for that matter) and all of a sudden I realised, why would I like Jack and Martha and want them back together when I hate Jack, and somehow end up going :wub::wub: whenever Michael is on screen?

So to cut a long story short, no, i dont like Jack and Martha anymore, I'm now a shameless m&m shipper. However, if Jack and Martha getting back together would rid us of Jack's little guard dog girlfriend and her dweeb son, loosing m&m is a sacrifice i'm willing to make.
