Old H&A Fan Posted August 27, 2025 Report Posted August 27, 2025 (edited) What we're dealing with is: a story editor or storyliner creates and writes the story some 6 months or so in advance, well before filming of the scenes in which the story is acted out. Does word ever get out once the storyliner puts pen to paper? As for keeping things under wraps, there should be an option as to whether the viewer wants to see what happens, hidden behind a "spoiler" tag. If the viewer wants to be shocked, the viewer should abstain from reading any such content hidden in a spoiler tag. Here is where I will use the spoiler tag here for UK viewers (moderators are welcome to make any additional changes to my post here accordingly): Spoiler Now that Irene's final episode has been broadcast in Australia, I can now say that the episode consisted of a farewell party where the residents of Summer Bay give her as much of a send-off as they can, then Irene's final moments are when she is driven away, by herself, by a chauffeur, from the party, and is never seen again once she passes the "You are now leaving Summer Bay" sign. A rather un-exciting, boring departure. We will never see if she copes with the complications of overseas travel, perhaps the writers will have the characters say they heard from Irene, how she is going on her trip, and we hear from how they talk about what happens, with no more on-screen appearances for Irene. There was no unexpected dramatic death scene. She is not killed off. Perhaps the writers have killed her off in an off-screen event overseas, where she succumbs to the Alzheimer's disease. Jackpittorino Posted October 5, 2025 Report Posted October 5, 2025 Had there ever been instances in the 80s/90s Home and Away episodes where some scenes were filmed in 16MM because of fire safety or where filming in video wasn’t possible? Quote
Irishbraxton Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 A member on this forum said it was weird seeing Joel and Rhys in the same scene interacting in 2000 right after the Sutherlands arrived. What reason was it weird was it because Rhys was Joel’s replacement. Quote
j.laur5 Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 I actually think even Shelley and Natalie shared scenes too in 2000 if memory serves me correctly when Natalie return after Joel was injured in mudslide. Quote

There's always a bit of crossover when there's like for like or one in one out replacement replacement (Rob/Luke, former moved in before the latter was out, same with Lachie/Kelly, Duncan/Seb et all) Quote
adam436 Posted December 7, 2025 Report Posted December 7, 2025 It happens all the time - Roxy/Donna, Emma/Karen and Blake, Jack/Liam, the Nashes/Pippa etc. In fact, Joel and Rhys is a relatively long crossover in comparison to others. Quote

Neighbours always did it too whenever a family member turned up ("Bye Shane, Hello Henry!" "Poor Kate...oh, wait...Daniel's Here!" and so forth!" 2 Quote
Old H&A Fan Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 A couple of questions: Does anyone here know who made the decisions about which episodes to include in the "Home And Away Classics" on 7plus? I mean for instance they chose Meg's death but not Laura's. And why was the memory of Sophie's boyfriend David revived in 2001/2002 through the naming of her baby? Quote
