Well, I'll be mature and ignore that last post, which obviously dragged my subconscious into this thread after days of ignoring it... and I'll just say, yes. Bring back Barry. And Corey. Sweet, sweet Corey... Wouldn't it be a strange thing, having Barry back in the bay without Kim? I can almost remember what it was like before when he was there and Kim wasn't. He was pure evil back then. Irene softened him... Maybe he's in need of that kind of love again, without the prospect of nosey kids getting in the way... But then, that was the problem wasn't it? (Apart from the small matter of him being on trial for murder...) Irene wanted to keep caring for kids, and Barry was over it. I think if Barry only had to deal with someone as sweet and respectful as Annie, and by association Geoff, maybe he might reconsider? It'd be worth exploring either way. And hell, if Robbie can get off for clear-cut legal murder on the grounds of mercy, then Barry should be able to wriggle his way out via temporary insanity and accidental death... yes?

Frankie is a wimp John, so you may have a long wait. I do however have a photo of her aged 5 brandishing a horse riding crop if that would do? I will look it out when I get home(I am in Taipei this week).
Bareenfan Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 I knew it could not be long before the Barry and Irene fans crept out of the woodwork in this thread. I wholeheartedly agree with you. Of course not. We have a sixth sense where they are concerned. I was looking at the Palm Beach web cam on Wednesday and convinced myself that there was a distinctly Barry shaped person there walking along side Irene. This was no doubt wishful thinking on my part, but how wonderful it would be if it were true. Irene definitely needs a great and good story line. I am sure Bevan will oblige. He understands the show so well, and will not disappoint the older long term fans.
stra gilr Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Irene and the Smiths were just amazing, I adored them all. Her relationship with Will and with Nick was lovely. I miss seeing her more at the centre of things, and agree that bringing back Barry would be a good move, although somehow I don't see it happening. Irene and Tony might be a bit too much like Irene and Paris given the age difference, and much as I love flaming Alf, he is not the one. So if its not going to be Barry I would rather they left her single, concentrating on her kids. Annie is a variation on Tasha in a way, but I like her. Jeff in that house would be fascinating though, with his high ideals and bible thumping tendencies. Jeff is Bruce at 16. Te current story line with Jonah could thrust her more into things, but they are making it about Martha already, like they did with Corey. That girl seems to get in on everyones story lines. Corey escaping to finish of Irene would be good too as Corey was very cute, and cuteness is not bad thing.

What are they gonna do now, oh i know lets hook her up with Tony, ok but wont that seem like oh a 2yrs back when Irene thought Beth liked Barry, or is it me seeing a few coinsidence's Sorry i can so see that happening its's unreal the'll get freindly close hey bingo... I have nothing agaist Tony its just so i dunno wrong being surpportive freinds yes but anything more no. I feel that since the smiths and Barry has left, she's lost a lot of scope, even when KIm and Kit left you'd thought that the'd said bye to Irene cause she's been there for both of them. I remeber the interveiew with Lynne and she stated getting married ends up being boring. As for reference in a uk soap when June and John got married they were ensured that it would',t be boring AKA Dot Jim, and its not, so what im saying is they could have made loads out of the Bareen affair. I'm not sure but our Barry could come back , if his precious not so dead wife turned upin the bay looking for her son , he's left the bay but she stirs Irene to ask Questions about who are you and where are you from ect, now that be a storyline, what shall i do call Kim or Barry, yep thats it here's to dreaming
Wal Harisse Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 You will get no argument form me on this score. Where the hell is Irene these days? She is great in crusading save the world Mum mode. We need more of that, with Irene continuing to grow and mellow of course. Corey returning would be awesome, that was a fantastic storyline, and it would be great to see old Baz back in the arms of the woman he loves - after a bit of drama and a few near misses along the way of course.
Corey Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Bring back Corey and Barry I say Corey was the best villain I have seen on the show in ages, becasue he looked so innocent. I'd love to see barry back with Irene as well. Ther is a piece on the official Seven site about Irene being in a stage play. I hope they get some clips. It was good that they reassured us she was not leaving too. I hope they give her a massive story arc when she has finished the play.
