Give Irene a decent storyline!

Fab news, if anyone deserves it, Irene does she is fantastic

How does this sound for a storyline? I came up with it during the "BTTB's Next Top HAA fan" competition and I'm thinking of pitching it to the producers. It involves the introduction of a new character:

Hannah Roberts:

DOB: January 23, 1991 POB: Brisbane, QLD.

Hair Colour: Red Eye Colour: Brown

Parents: Murdoch Roberts and Terri Waterston

Living At: The Beach House

Occupation: Student, Summer Bay High

Friends: Belle, Annie, Nicole

Love Interest: Geoff

Hannah arrives on Irene’s doorstep, after her mother Terri dies, following a shock heart attack. Irene is stunned to learn that Hannah’s father is her ex-husband, who was killed by Dodge years earlier. During their separation he had lived with Terri for a few years but he left them to try and reconcile with Irene. Irene allows her to move in, but cannot help but think of her as a symbol of her husband’s affair. Within a few days, Hannah senses this and feels rejected and goes on the run again. Irene soon tracks her down in Reefton Lakes, and they have a heart-to-heart. When Hannah reveals that Mud didn’t treat her or Terri any better than he treated Irene and their kids, Irene softens towards her. She moves back in and begins to build a new life in the Bay.

From this point it's wide open for the two. How does this sound?

Your plight has not gone unnoticed.....

Irene gets a significant storyline in around 4 weeks time (in Oz), which keeps her going for a while, and then another one towards the end of the year.

I've been told that Lynne is quite philosophical about her role in the show, and rather likes being the stable central pillar that supports the stories of the kids around her, as opposed to expecting a load of Irene centered storylines.

However the powers that be do agree with you, there needs to be a bit more in the future

I look forward to seeing my very favourite lady on TV in some good story lines. I feel sure that they will do her justice. This is long over due, and very much deserved. What has taken the powers that be so long to realize?

I hope its a good length story line and not one of those which lasts about a week and then she goes back to serving cups of coffee. I really like Irene, and I think its such a shame they have not done more with her character. I think its great they are going to give her something to do at long last.

I agree with (i love sam) and hope it's a story that she has to deal with for a length of time, that is worthy for her.

I've not being able till now to back up my commrades regards to Barry, of course we dont give up there's always hope in some funderalmental way he could come back he wouild, if Ivar ever thought of playing the role again,

I'm really looking forward to her storylines coming up. I hope they're quite unexpected ones that will keep us interested. When Geoff was telling Irene about his date with Melody she made a comment about how she hasn't had many dates in the past few years - maybe this was a hint that she'll be dating someone again soon? I'd love to see her battle an illness as well, maybe something relating to her alcoholism that comes back to haunt her. Doing that kind of damage to your body can have repurcussions years in the future, so it would make sense. It would be great to see Belle, Geoff and Annie trying to deal with something like that and the prospect of losing Irene, especially Geoff and Annie, they would find it very hard to cope.

As long as the new date isn't Alf, I could live with it, though as others have said, Barry would be nice. A battle with the booze or with an illness would be good to see as well.

because they should be happening around the same time.....???/
