ive noticed this on many tv shows

there are very few pets around

occasionally one will be introduced but it will never be seen from again

I remember when Colleen sat on Max's pet rat and Flynn had to give the rat mouth to mouth while Sally was laughing about it in the background. That one was too funny!

But funny that nobody has a everyday pet.

It mustn't be easy to work with animals, esp. when it's on a soap. I read somewhere they didn't have that much time to film scenes, edit them etc before the actual episodes air. I don't remember if the article was about H&A or another soap but I guess it is probably the same for all soaps. I've also read articles about/watched interviews of some actors saying it was harder to work with animals and young children.

Yeah, I understand it's hard to work with pets, like Barbara said. It would change the show if there was a pet. Not sure if the change would be good or bad. Anyway, that's not normal that nobody has a pet in little city, but I can totally understand, why there isn't any in Home and Away.
