It's such a sad chapter!

Poor Macca and Martha! :(

He's going to die. It's not fair. :(

Martha should open up to Macca. She can trust him and she needs him just as much as he needs her.

More please.

Sorry its short :(

CHAPTER 16

Martha rolled onto her side. She looked at the clock. It was 1am. 1am and she wasn’t asleep. She couldn’t close her eyes because every time she did all she could see was Tim’s face. But she was used to it.

Her mind couldn’t seem to erase the picture from her memory. It was as though, that moment exactly six months ago, when Tim had looked into her eyes and she knew right then what he wanted, her mind had taken a snap shot and stored it away, never to be forgotten.

But Tim wasn’t the only thing on Martha’s mind. Jack. She had a million and one things to talk to him about but when she had seen him the day before it had been like she was frozen, unable to say the things she wanted to say.

And when she had pulled away from him, she knew he had been hurt, she could tell by the look in his eyes. She didn’t know what to do now, whether to see him or not, and what about Macy? She was with Jack now.

It didn’t take him long to move on, Martha thought bitterly. But then she scolded herself, she was the one who had run away after all, she was the one who had left him behind with nothing but a note, if anything Jack had a right to be angry at Martha.

But for some reason he wasn’t. And Martha couldn’t figure out why.

And then there was Macca, whom she was trying really hard not to think about. He was just someone else who was leaving her.

First her dad had left them when Martha was 15, then she herself had left but it had felt like her family had gone anyway, then recently her mother had run off with another man, and now Macca. She didn’t know how she was supposed to survive without him. When he was gone, who would she have left?

A bunch of friends who hated her and a guy who as much as he wanted to, just did not understand her. But Martha knew that the reason for that was because she wouldn’t let him.

She just kept blocking him out, she had started doing that just over three years ago. She knew she did it, but she didn’t know why. She had only let her guard down once in the past three years, and she had ended up hurt, and Jack hadn’t been there to save her.

And that just proved to her, that the only person she could trust in this world was herself and she couldn’t even do that completely. Martha sighed. She knew she was a mess.

And she knew that she couldn’t keep going round in circles in her head. She had to talk to someone. And that someone could only be her brother.

*********

Martha crawled into Macca’s bed and snuggled herself next to him.

“Martha,” Macca moaned, turning to face her, “Its 1am.”

Martha stayed silent for a moment, willing herself to go through with this. She took a deep breath.

“It wasn’t Jack,” She whispered into the pillow.

“Huh?” Macca said, still half asleep.

“Why I left,” Martha tried again, “It wasn’t because of Jack…I was…”

Martha trailed off into silence.

“You what?” Macca prompted, now wide awake.

He had promised his sister he would be there when she was ready to talk and he would be, 1am or not.

“I was… taken advantage of,” Martha said softly, tears welling in her eyes.

The very thought of what had happened made her want to throw up.

“You mean…” Macca said, realising what she meant.

“Raped,” Martha said, as one tear slid down her left cheek, “I was raped.”

She repeated it, as though if she said it a certain number of times, the word would become less scary. But it didn’t.

“Oh, my God,” Macca breathed, pulling his baby sister close to him.

He felt sad, then suddenly angry. How dare anyone touch his little sister, how dare they.

“Who did it,” he growled, sitting up in bed, “I want to kill them.”

“No,” Martha said also sitting up and tugging on his arm, “Please, Jack’s already tried, I just want to move on and forget about it.”

“Jack knew about this?” Macca turned to her.

Martha nodded, tears falling from her eyes, and she silently wept.

“He found me, in the back of a van, I thought he was going to kill him…”

“He should of,” Macca said loudly, “He deserves to die.”

“Macca,” Martha said lying back down, “I told you because I thought it might help me move on, but I can’t if you want to kill him, please just let it go, it’s over.”

Macca looked at his sister’s pleading face. He would do anything for her and if she wanted him to leave it, he would.

“Ok,” he sighed, laying next to her and wrapping his strong arms around her, “It’s going to be ok.”

Martha let herself cry freely fir the first time since the incident as she rest her face against her big brother’s shoulder.

“I love you,” she whispered.

“Love you too,” Macca replied.

He only wished he could take her pain away.

NEXT CHAPTER: Martha is confronted by Jack

No Martha! Why did you stop Macca? He could have beaten Tim’s a$$
