Anyone else noticed that H&A has actually improved since Dan B?

What you say is very true, when they are mixed in together and balanced out it works wonderfully, but when all you get is explosions and disasters it works less well. Thats when it becomes problematic, and thats what I meant by a little immature. I don't think that it did follow though things like the Kim and Kit situation any where near as well as it has in the past with Kirsty and Kane for example. The chopper crash was a plot device, and was very obviously a LOST derivative. The Mirgini boat trip was actually part of the celebrations and the boat sinking therefore did not seem to be something thrown in purely for ratings effect. The Kirsty and Kane story line was also done with much more attention to character. The Kim and Kit story line paid little or no attention to character, in fact they could have been any three characters. Much of what was said and done was not what any of three main protagonists in that triangle would have said and done, but they were made to do so for the sake of the story line. This spoilt it for me. This is what makes the difference between what I would call mature writing and unnecessarily melodramatic writing.

I agree very much with what you have said. I think that the characters of Angie Russell and Sarah Lewis were maturely carefully and cleverly written and fitted in well with what was happening at the time. The stalker storyline was fantastic in its way but I always felt it was a device rather than anything which fitted in, and to re hash it was a mistake. A lot of the vixens, psychos, stalkers etc... which followed were a rather over the top attempt to emulate the success of characters like Angie and Sarah. Unfortunately it failed in the execution because its about the characters and not about events. I disliked a lot of what they did to Kit, Kim, Robbie, Tasha, and a lot of other characters who were made to say and do things wholly out of character for the sake of a story line. A lot of it did not ring true and a long with the Jack and Martha saga (whole other moan) is one of the reasons I stopped watching as often I used to.
