Ric's Diabetes?

Remember back when Ric moved in with Alf, Alf kicked him out when he was injecting himself with insulin. Has the fact that Ric has diabetes ever been heard of again, coz it seems to me that he just eats anything and never checks his sugar level or injects himself. Just something i wondered when i was watching old episodes???

It was mentioned when Ric was being bullied by Dom at the garage. When Dom poured battery acid over his legs,he tried to hide the burns and then collasped. He was taken to the hospital by Belle and the doctor basically told him off for not coming in sooner because of his diabetes and the risk of infection. I think they may have been one other time aswell,but I'm not sure.
