Definitely prefer Home and Away. I like the fact that old characters come back for special events like weddings etc and they're played by the same people. I think that is a great touch and makes the whole thing more believable.

that happens on Neighbours too sometimes.

It's a bit of a silly question to as here, because the answer is probably gonna be h&a. if you asked it on a Neighbours board... it would be Neighbours. I love both, but my loyalities lie with Neighbours as i've only been watching Home & Away for a year and a half, i do love it though. They both have good qualities, and i am more excited to watch one more than the other at different times when different storylines run. I will admit though i did prefer H&A the early years to Neighbours even! Neighbours doesn't grab my attention as much now that The Timmins family and Sky have gone. I like more families/people in Neighbours than H&A though, which i think is an important thing which makes you want to watch day to day as oppose to just turning on when there is an expolosion or whatever. I love almost everyone and care what happens to them in Neighbours, but in H&A there are quite a few characters that i hate and annoy me. However now that Neighbours has gone 'back to basics' they aren't gonna have as many dramatic occurances, which Home and Away will still do, which is great! I don't know why so many people moan that Neighbours isn't realistic enough, who wants a boring documentary!? I want a cheesy ridiculously dramatic soap!

Both good in different ways :) It's a matter of opinion not fact of which is better.

i watch both, but it's gotta be home and away, it's just more exciting! there's just one thing about neighbours that's good compared to h&a, and that's the fact that in neighbours, you actually have couples that break, stay on the show, and the writers make it possible for them to remain apart because *SHOCK HORROR* neighbours writers are familiar with the concept of 'people moving on!' and it doesn't have to be an actor leaving to make them suddenly realise they're 'still in love after all to make a suitable leaving the show storyline'. (there are exceptions of course, like karl and susan BUT those two were really meant to be together, while in h&a it's a constant cycle of never-ending couple stories)

My loyalty will always lie with Home and Away but I still like Neighbours.

Home and Away is great for many reasons but recently what I like about Neighbours is that the storylines focus on all the characters young and old whereas with Home and Away most of the focus seems to be on the teens. I can't remember the last time Irene had a storyline of her own.

I love HAA but lately I've realised that pretty much any storyline they do, Neighbours will do it better. For example, Toadie and Steph at the moment are recognisably a rip-off of Brad and Sally. But Toadie and Steph are better because Toadie isn't being uncharacteristically clueless the way Brad was in the lead-up to the wedding.

I actually haven't seen a single episode of Neighbours in my life... I've always got the impression most people find it more boring than H&A, but lately I've read a lot of posts saying that Neighbours do all storylines better than H&A. I don't know, maybe I should start watching it :P
