However, watching these episodes,. I am reminded just how incredibly dull H & A became around that time. An entire episode on Leah thinking Vinnie's teddy bear was his secret lover?!

Ideas really were thin on the ground back then, weren't they?

^I totally disagree. The show was still funny, light hearted and at a slower pace, so that when something huge/disastrous happened, it actually shook the Bay and the people involved. These days its more like, '.....and for the 500th time '...oh well who cares...etc

I loved 2000 season, it was so character lead but also had a lot of drama. I also think that Kimmy storyline is great, we get to know the characters even more, Leah was still kind new then and Leah was written with a lot more ‘character’ and work put into her, these days she’s just another Sally.

What I've enjoyed is that the end of the episodes seem a logical continuation of what's gone before, rather than a "hook" to try and get you to watch the next episode.

Yeah, I very much enjoying these episodes. Alot more character led and more depth into storylines etc. It gives me my H&A fix now that I've stopped watched present day Home and Away becuase of how bad it's becoming (IMO of course ;))

Must admit I agree with Ryan - I adored Leah back then. I still love her, but some of the spark has gone. I never could stand Shauna though.

I was thinking exactly the same thing!!

I saw half of the 2nd episode yesterday and both today! I'm really enjoying seeing the episodes that are being shown at the moment even though some of the storylines are a little....bland.

Watching episodes from that era is actually quite a refreshing change from watching explosions, kidnappings, love triangeles etc. Obviously those kinds of storylines did happen back then but I think especially over the last couple of years sometimes there has been too much doom and gloom and no happiness! Rant over!! I love Home and Away more than ever!!!.....even if one entire episode was devoted to Vinnies 'lover' A.K.A Kimy the teddy bear seven years ago!!!
