No Home and Away on Five/FiveLife

They've never taken Bank Holidays off before. Looks like they're starting to think ahead to the "big catchup" and taking episodes off when they can like the BBC do with Neighbours.

Oh, of course, that would definitely explain why after all these years they've now started doing that. Just when I thought we were heading for only being 5 weeks behind as well! I guess it is better than having to take a break for a few weeks, although, it does annoy me with Neighbours that the week is not in sync.

I'd rather have a few weeks break in summer and maybe one at christmas.

Well, I'm surprised the didn't take it off at Easter if it was their plan to drop a few episodes this year. Maybe they only want to drop one episode so the Five Life ones (and the omnibus) reflect the Australian weekly block of episodes - I'd like to think so.

If their plan is to fall a bit further behind Australia, then I'd much rather they had a full week or fortnight's break somewhere along the line than cancel the odd episode here and there.

Yeah I think I would prefer them to take a week here and there rather than odd episodes here and there. That way, the episodes on Five would stay in sync, and there would be no need to take an extended break at any point, which would probably affect Five's ratings quite a bit and also leave us with a huge period without the show again!

I'd hardly think that a few bank holidays would stop us catching up any slower, when we catch up by like 35 episodes each break, I want a break each time a season finale airs in the UK and not just at the end of some random episode.

If not, then at chistmas , I can never watch it on christmas day

Not that I'm from England (i'm from oz) but waht are bank holidays? And why would they stop HAA from being shown?

Interesting!

I guess (and hope) that the idea is to put Five Life into sync, which would make sense.

Hopefully this won't be too regular as I quite like the "Monday-Friday" syncing up. We're still some way off becoming dangerously close to Australia though.

They are public holidays. We are catching up with Oz episodes so they need to find a way this wont happen so wont be showing the show on public holidays.

I thought it would only be a matter of time before FIVE started taking breaks, however as this is only one day then perhaps it is, as others have suggested, so the episodes are in sync on Five Life. Have to wait and see what happens on the next Bank Holiday at the end of May.
