Ok in british soaps and up to about 2004 in Oz soaps, any dramatic ending episode would play on a friday to make everyone wait out the weekend to see what happeneds next. But i have noticed (see list below) the new fashion trend seems to be the most shocking dramatic episodes (except season finales oz pace) play on mondays occasionally tuesdays see list.

Robert De angelo holds Ailsa hostage (monday in the uk 1999)

stalker is revealed (uk tuesday oz monday)

Zoe has jack on the roof (oz and uk monday)

Zoe blows up the wedding (monday both oz and uk)

peter comes back from the dead (oz/uk both monday)

season finale 2005 & 6 (uk pace monday/tuesday)

and now

Beth's shocking death a monday oz

Coronation Street has a double episode on a Monday in the UK so of course it would be more eventful. Home And Away probably do it to make the previews more exciting.

I've noticed they play the big stories, there for the best cliffhangers on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday is because everyone is home those nights, so they want the best stories to be seen. Thursday nights is late night shopping and Friday nights people go out, so the ratings are always a little lower then Monday-Wednesday... That's how I look at it anyway.

Ya Monday night rates a lot higher than Friday nights and when they advertize a big story for a Monday then even more people are going to watch.

The reason why i think the bad things always happen on monday is beacause the whole previous week they are so busy building up the climax, and then on the last episodes on Friday just before the big shock/ bad thing is about to happen the show ends. The home and away producers do this so people come back to watch the show and the veiwers have 2 days to think about. ^_^
