emmasi Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Okay, this has been coming for a long time now. It's infected nearly every discussion thread I've seen, so I'm going to start this thread and ask the people involved to get out all their ageist hatred in here, and leave the rest of the board in peace! So fire away with all your "they can't act" "they're all boring" "you only like them for their looks," and whatever other assumptions and insults you'd like to make. I'm not saying I won't fight you on every point, but at least we might have a chance of localising the pointless bickering to one thread
Calicott Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Why would you watch Home and Away if you didn't like the teens? That's what the show is based around
Drew Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Why would you watch Home and Away if you didn't like the teens? That's what the show is based around The show is based around kids with no homes being fostered into familys. Not just the lives of teens. I have nothing wrong with them, it's just two more have arrived and it's a little too much now. They can all act, they all look good I have no problem. It's just there's too many.
John Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Actually I've been very impressed with the teens. Anyone can shout, yell or abuse people but in recent time a number of them have shown real caring emotion, concern for others and empathy with the trials and tribulations of others. Matilda, Ric, Cassie and even Belle have shown that their acting has a number of different dimensions. Sorry can't join the teen bashing.!! Still love Alf, Colleen and Irene though.
ste Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 I don't have a problem with the teens, I just wish the older adults did more. But recently the 20/30 somethings have been great. Everyone gets their shot.
**I luv rhys** Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 I love all the teens, but thats proberly because i am one lol
ter06 Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Emmasi, I didnt think you'd start a thread like this! I hate the teens, I dont mind them in small doses but there is currently way too much going on at the moment. I wouldnt care less if Belle, Drew and Lucas all died horribley painful deaths. How many times have Belle and Drew broken up and gotten back together, who cares anymore? The only teens I like are Mattie and Ric and Ric isn't even technically a teen. I dont understand why they are introducing new teen characters when so many of the adults (I cant name names in the general discussion section) are leaving. We need more adults.
Aquamarine Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 I think all of the current teenagers/early 20's actors and actresses are great at portraying their characters and deserve praise for their great acting, but I can't bring myself but to like only a few of them, and the ones I do like I don't consider myself a big fan of as I have with past teenagers. It may be because I am getting a bit older, but I am still a teenager myself. So yes, lately I have prefered the adults and the older characters.
claire_louise Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 I like all the teens at the moment. Matilda, Ric and Cassie in particular are all fantastic characters and good actors. I'm not overly fond of Belle, but she adds a certain dynamic and spices things up a bit, so I'm glad she's there. People complain that there are too many teens, but when there were only four (Kirsty, Jade, Seb and Nick) the writers ran out of options for them and it became dull (the Jade and Seb relationship being the obvious example). The ones I dislike at the moment are those that don't really fit into the 'teen' group, but aren't adults either, ie. Kim and Martha. They're supposed to be 19, but act more immaturely than Cassie, Ric etc. I could do without both of them.
Guevara01 Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 I'll be honest. I prefer the teens of old. Groups like Robbie, Tasha and Kim. Seb, Jade, Nick (Not Kirsty though ), Dani, Hayley, etc. Can't really explain why, I mean they all had their annoying points and good points, as do all of the teens today, but I guess it was just the entire feel of the show back then that was different. Having said that I love Ric and Cassie! And although I dislike Belle, she has merit. She does add something to the show - she is interesting. Not a fan of Luke (purely because he's never used, nothing really to do with him), Drew or Matilda though. xxx
