Lynds Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Mark Furze is interviewed in the uk latest addition of TV Hits where they ask whether he will be saying in Home and Away or doing anything new! He says that he will be staying in Home and Away till the end of his contract (which is when??) and then he hopes to move on to bigger and better things. I was a little disappointed with this comment but im sure he meant it in the nicest way! So it looks like Mark will leave but how soon is that??? I cant even remember how long he has been in home and away (2years??)
victim-ofthenight Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 He is into his 3rd season now. I think from a thread on here somewhere said his contract ends in december this year
Lynds Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 So he could leave in December that would be disappointing! I do get disapointed when young stars of the show think they should leave and get summat better!
Vivica Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 So he could leave in December that would be disappointing! I do get disapointed when young stars of the show think they should leave and get summat better! i feel the same but on the other hand i feel they should go and do other things before it's too late because they will regret it if they don't and we (the fans) should support that
Lynds Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 I just hope if he does leave that we actually see him again! You get a few stars who leave and we never hear anything of what there upto. I just hope that they dont kill off his character, so atleast we have some hope of seeing him again.
Vivica Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 They better not kill him off! i really do think they should bring back characters now and again jsut to spice it up abit
Lynds Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Definatly, we all like it when a blast from the past appears on someone's door step! Pity they killed Noah off I'd love to see him back on our screens.
cutiepie379 Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Here's the full interview if anyone's intrested. Hi Mark! Have you enjoyed showing you rocker side today? It was good,I've never actually done a photo shoot where I was allowed to wear my own clothes and do the kind of thing I like, they've always got to be smiley and character - based, but this was a bit rock 'n' roll! Now you've shown off your singing skills in Soapstar Superstar are you going to become another soapstar - turned - popstar? Well yeah, hopefully, but not in the normal form, not the bubble-gum pop form where they do as they're told, hopefully I'll have total creative control. What sort of music are you into? I listen to a lot of 80s heavy metal. A lot of Whitesnake and Megadeth, that sort of thing. I listen to a lot of jazz too, which is strange. I guess it's a lot of 'musical' music, more instrumental kind of music. Cool! How did you get into that? Well,I play guitar and drums and I think you can't really not be into rock if you play either of those and I had a mate who gave me an AC/DC album, and from then on I started getting all their albums, and got into classic heavy metal from there. I always did school plays, and I was singing then, but I've never been trained or had lessons. Which are you best at? Guitar. I tought myself drums. I'm pretty good. I'm learning songs to sing with my band at the moment we're classic heavy metal. THere's not a whole lot of progress being made, but we're getting close to it. We're kind of like Wolfmother, but a bit more melodic singing-wise,and a bit more riff based. Have you played any gigs yet? No,not yet,we've had some changes to the line-up. I've got all the songs figured out,so we'll just go from there then hopefully start playing this year. Do you remember your first gig? That was at school,at the fayre. I was playing guitar at the time and the singer didn't want to do it so we played a whole set with no vocals {Laughs}. We played covers of other people's songs but without words! People loved it,they thought it was great! It was very amusing. Would you rather act or sing in the band? That's a good question. I think if I had to choose, then I'd be the frontman of the band, but I don't have to choose because I can do both. What's been the most rock and roll thing you've done? At the first Megadeth concert I went to,we got a bit drunk and one of my mates severed his thumb,he bashed his ring into it as he was trying to jump over something. We were all trying to look at it and got covered in blood. He had to have his ring cut off at the hospital, but we went out after and they let us in the club covered in blood. Have you ever been crowd surfing? Only to get out of a mosh pit,it's not as nice as people think, people are grabbing your bits and... no! {Laughs} I go in moshers all the time though. Do you remember the first album you bought? It was a No Doubt album,Tragic Kingdom. I loved it,and played it to death but I don't thimk I've got it anymore. The most embarrassing CD I have is probably by the Spice Girls,I've got a couple by them,I was into that for a while {Laughs}. I was 11,old enough to know better {Laughs}. What else are you into apart from music? I skateboard a bit... and erm,I don't know {Laughs}. I like to make short films with a good mate of mine. We go out and have a lot more ideas for films than we actually make. I think we've probably made about two. They're a bit weird. THere was one where we had a cool idea, and it had a fight scene but of course we didn't have sny budget,so it's all filmed on a home video camera {Laughs}. Hopefully we'll come up with a good enough concept one day to sell to someone. Are you sticking with Home And Away for now? Yeah,'til the contract's up and then I'd like to head on,hopefully for bigger and better things. I'd like to do films, along with a hundred million others, but you've got to have a go. Do you watch yourself on Home And Away? Usually I'm not home, but if I am then I'll check it out. It's weird watching youself on TV,you can't get used to it! I like watching myself {Laughs}. It's good to see what I'm doing wrong, 'cos you never see your own expressions. I'm very critical of myself, but you need to improve. It's a bit of a double-edged sword thing. Has this been your first time in the UK? It's my first time out of Australia! I've been a real tourist,I'm looking at things and I've got no idea where I'm going. I'm finding it hard to finish a whole pint of beer! I'm not enjoying the weather,it was 42 degrees before I left but I'm getting used to it! The food's fantastic,it's great going to hang out in the pub and having food in there. I'd definitely come back with some mates for a holiday, the weird thing about doing this now is there's no-one to share it with! Hopefully I'll come back with the boys in the band and play some gigs. Catch Mark as Ric in Home And Away, Monday-Friday,on five. Little part at the side now. home and away hunk MARK MY WORDS We asked Mark to give his verdict on some of the ebst British bands around... GIRLS ALOUD "Turn the sound down and I really like them! They look great. I cant remember which show I was watching, but they were saying it was their breast single yet,and I thought taht was quite relevant {Laughs}." MCFLY "I'm not really into it but in their genre they're doing really well. Whatever encourages more people to paly music I think is worthy"." ARCTIC MONKEYS "I think they're great,I love that the accent is so prominent in all the vocals." OASIS "I'm not a fan. I really like Wonderwall but I find that - especially in Australia - you hear more about the way they carry on,rather than the music and I think they have stupid hair!" COLDPLAY "Coldplay I'm a big fan of. Their first album is in my top 10,they're great and that album is fantastic." THE KOOKS "Never heard of them {Laughs}." RAZORLIGHT "Or them! THey've been number one? Really?!" Hope everyone enjoys
