^^ Wow! :o 30-40 degrees celcius is HOT!

It never gets that hot here. :( We can make 28 degrees on a good day in summer. In winter it can get down to -3 or -4 celcius. Hence why people tend to wear shoes all the time. :P

There's another reason people always wear shoes in the UK, even in summer. The litter problem here is terrible, especially in cities. You actually sometimes see people dropping litter right where they stand even tho there's a litter bin close by. So you have things like discarded food wrappings, broken glass and, worst of all, dog crap. (There ARE responsible dog owners who clean up but there are a lot who don't and the law about it isn't really enforced.)

I envy the way Aussie ppl can just wander round barefoot like they do in H&A but you couldn't chance it here. I have to make do with kicking off my shoes when I visit friends and relatives - quite well known for it actually!

my parents who have visited the UK in Cornwall, said that the sun shine doesn’t feel that intense during winter or autumn.

lol that's prob cuz the sun hardly ever appears in autumn or winter!

I agree with I love music, I half envy some Aus/NZ culture..it's just so different to mine, which is part of the reason why I wanna go there hehe

I think I've been in to the shop round the corner in my pj's once yrs ago but that's all, unless u count walking home in my bare feet from the bus stop way down the road but that was cuz my shoes were hurting my feet :P

Serves you right for wearing ridiculous shoes when you're going for a night out however.

Well that works in theory, but there are some places that won't let you in if you don't have ridiculous shoes. I've been turned away from a club for wearing sneakers. The next time I turned up in a pair of heels - which I wasn't comfortable in and wasn't used to. I got in alright, but I was almost thrown straight out again because they thought I was too drunk - I couldn't walk properly, thanks to their stupid dress code. They changed it later on. I wonder if some poor girl had to break her ankle first

I have a friend who goes everywhere barefoot except for the club where you have if you want to get in.I always wear shoes but it's not weird if you don't here.

i have never actually taken any notice on what the home and away characters are wearing on their feet but now that it has been bought up I have noticed it.

I dont live near the beach but if i did i would always walk around with no shoes its alot more confortable. Your feet tend to get use to walking around barefoot and it normally doesnt hurt unless of course you step on glass or a big rock. I live very close to 5 of my friends, we all live on 2 connecting streets and i tend to walk up and back there barefoot and go down to the park down the road without shoes. I dont leave the house without wearing shoes.

The weather here is great in autumm and spring and most of summer and winter. Some days in summer it gets very hot and some winter days its rainy and a bit cold but nothing like in thwe UK.

Characters on H & A have been going barefoot a lot over the last few years. Do you remember when Leah stepped on a needle on the beach and had to wait for the results of tests to come back and Vinnie was really sweet to her?

Oh, now you mention it, wasn't there also some saga with Robbie (I think) 'cos he'd trodden on one of Ric's insulin needles that had been left from when he was living rough in the bush and he was worried he'd contracted HIV/AIDS. See what happens when you don't wear your shoes!

Oh ya..I remember that story and that s why I always watch the ground when I'm walking around and have my shoes off (even in my own back garden)...I'm just so afraid something will stick into my foot like Robbie and Leah!!
