It must be a down under thing. I hardly ever wear shoes in Summer when I'm not at work. In the 23 years I've been doing it I've never caught anything.

I've taken to not wearing shoes some places. Some days it's too hot to wear sneakers, and my thongs and sandles aren't comfortable to walk in over long distances. I've never noticed this on H&A though... I did with Tasha for a while, but the people you're talking about, I honestly didn't even blink. Maybe because a lot of their scenes are shot by the beach. I do notice Ric carrying his thongs a lot. I think, why bother taking them?? But I guess I do the same thing, so I won't hold it against him. There's a world of sharp stones out there that one does need to avoid when leaving soft sands.

To be honest I’ve never ever noticed it – guess I’ve never looked at their feet. I do remember Maz used to carry her shoes in her shiny pink backpack sometimes.

This is the most random topic LOL. Well I always wear shoes, except in the house, but I don't live by the beach. Even so, I wouldn't walk around town without thongs on. I've always noticed the shoes on H and A and how bad they usually are. Like Rachel has these absolutely awful wedge sandal thingies and Hayley used to also have awful platform slip on things. I think thongs are the best option, like Martha goes for the havanas. A good choice. :)

I noticed that. Well, about Rocco anyway. I began to think the guy who played him had some kind of problem with his feet which meant he couldn't wear shoes, or at least the only shoes H&A could provide or something, until he wore shoes for, I think, some robbery with Johnny.

I would've thought it would make more sense to wear shoes in a hot country because the pavement and sand would be really hot.

He wears trainers with jeans and stuff...guess it prob is just cuz it is normal not to wear shoes over there, I wouldn't really know lol. And if you've done it from a young age, your feet would prob be used to it and so wouldn't hurt, like Tess & Mez said.

Burr - I know it's random but it's all I noticed for a while from when I first noticed it LOL. And I must say, I know what you mean about the dodgy choice of shoes haha

And it's not always hot here, only in summer. The rest of the time it's normal; Summer's hot, Autumn is beginning to get cold, Winter's freezing, and Spring is warm.

I know this is kind of OT, but I've always been curious about it. What is the Australian definition of "normal" temperatures? The British summer is never anywhere as near as hot as the Aussie one, and our winters are a lot colder. Lucky us.

And we would get some very weird looks if we walked into a shop with no shoes on. I also have a house by the beach (in Wales) and even in mid-August (the height of summer) no one goes barefoot. People would just think you're slightly loony. :P

Well, here summer is always hot. Like 30 - 40+ degrees hot, on a good day.

Autumn is 20 - 25 degrees, Winter is about 12 - 20 degrees, and Spring is normally about 19 - 22 degrees.

^^ Wow! :o 30-40 degrees celcius is HOT!

It never gets that hot here. :( We can make 28 degrees on a good day in summer. In winter it can get down to -3 or -4 celcius. Hence why people tend to wear shoes all the time. :P

And up North say Darwin its constantly 30+ or there about, even in winter.

NASTY!

People have said that the sun feels like its closer over here, because in winter when the sun is out, it can sometimes feel like a summers day the sun is so hot - my parents who have visited the UK in Cornwall, said that the sun shine doesn’t feel that intense during winter or autumn.
