Les and Colleen

I think its time Les returned – maybe even permanently or as a regular guest! They could reintroduce the mobile home too. I’d like to see him return though, as I think Colleen and him make a good comedy duo, there is a lot of unfinished storyline potential between them and there back story and the actor who plays him, if they could get him back, does serious stuff really well too so they could expand on his character and make him a bit more layered and not as sleazy, though not changing him completely - plus it would give Colleen more of a focus.

What would you like to see Colleen get up to this year? I think she needs a storyline of her own this year - but I really like how they are going with her so far, its like they've taken a look back at her history on the show and re-introduced bits of her personality we'd kinda seen disappear, plus she’s a lot more comedic I've found and Lyn Collingwood has really gone crazy with her its great!

Slightly off topic but I was thinking during Friday's AUS episode I think the scenes involving Leah would have worked even better if she (Leah) was as bubbly and wacky as she was in her earlier days.

I definitely think it's time Colleen got a good storyline of her own, and not just organising some sort of pageant which seems to be all she does these days, but a really emotional storyline. I loved her breast cancer storyline and I also thought she was at her best a few years back when Norman left her and she confided her feelings to Sally. I think that was some of Lyn Collingwood's best acting in the history of the show.

As for Leah, I agree she has lost a lot of her bubbly nature. She used to always be laughing and happy, but she seems to spend most of her time now stressed or upset over one thing or another, but I guess a lot of that is to do with the route the show has taken these days.

I agree Leah is not as good as her original bubbly, quirky self but the writers have actually improved this. If you look at mid 2003/2004 Leah she was REALLY depressing. While she is not fully back to her old self she is definately more bubbly again to an extent.

As for Colleen and Les, that's funny I was just thinking about this recently. I liked his little appearance in 2000 and felt sorry for Colleen when he ran off and left her again. I don't think she would take him back a 3rd time, though.

I think its not so much the writers with Leah these days, it might be Ada. All it would take is for the director to get Ada to be more smiley and bouncy, because the storylines and dialogue recently involving Leah haven’t actually been depressing by any stretch. I feel like Ada has mellowed her out, if you watch Leah in 2000 or 2001 she seemed a lot younger, as Ada has grown maybe she's made Leah more serious Sally-style. Storylines will have influenced it too though I guess.

I agree I thought Leah was quite annoying in 2004.

Rob Steele (LES) is a great actor they should bring him back he was good in his brief roles in sons and daughters as Colin Hopkins and in prisoner as Patrick powell as well. I find these days with Ada she is more of a background chracter who appears to settle arguments than serve her own storylines.
