I read that too but I don't think they are saying he's leaving. Remember that the story goes that he is offered the job overseas but tells Rachel that he will turn it down if she ditches Kim. Because we still don't know her choice they can't say he's defo staying on as that would ruin the surprise for us. It read to me like they trying not to let anything slip. They did to watch how the quadrangle pans out so nothing is confirmed yet.
