The format of this show is completely different to Home and Away, but on various episodes they do a certain "character" based episode. After something big goes down (which ends in a cliffhanger) The next episode slowly drags along with the character's story in flashback mode, going back into the past, then slowly moving along in the present. Even though this show (Fashion House) doesn't have alot of history, with a show like Home and Away it could work really well, especially being half an hour. It just shows how much a character has developed, grown and all their drama throughout their time on the show which is a nice reflection. With just under 20 years of history now and with characters such as Sally, Alf and Irene being there as long as they have, once they leave, having a two minute monatge squence doesn't feel much, and it seems to make a more impact when you get a whole scene of a flashback, not a few seconds. (if it makes sense). Anyway, that's the format I like about that show, and it'll be good if Home and Away ever tried it some time.

I completely agree. In fact even when Home and Away was a brand new show, they still did flash backs (proper ones with voices not just montages) to when Morag, Alf, and Celia were kids. I loved them.

They sorta did it when Cassie first arrived too – when she flashed back to her childhood when her uncle used to abuse her.

Also when the Aboriginal teacher kept flashing back to when he was 'stolen' from his mother on the Beach - I remember that being really emotional.

That's right I forgot about Cassie's flashbacks, they were quite emotional. I think they did it with Kane too when his father turned up. And I remember Joel once had some flashbacks to when he and his father used to live in the Nash house (now Leah's house) when he was a boy.

I don't remember this teacher though?!

Yeah it was in 1999 – I think the first scene a flashback feature red was when he was on the beach and could hear his mum screaming for him, then he looks up towards the lighthouse and on the sand dunes is where it happened…

It was the guy who Hayley called ‘Abo Abo Abo!’.

He ended up coming face to face with the cop that took him away from his family during the time of the ‘stolen-generation’ – him and Sam ended up being mates because they both Surfed...but he was mainly quite chummy with Nat Nash, she was the one that organised him meeting the Cop, through Joel.

One of my favourite scenes of 1999 is him describing to Natalie how he felt all his life and how it had affected him, it included more flashbacks, and they were both in tears by the end of the scene and the music was really moving.

Oh I remember now, and Gus hitting Kane in the flashback coincided with Kane running straight into a tree

Didn't Will have flashbacks or nightmares of his parents hitting each other or something in this large white room? Was it Will that had that dream?

On a very old tape I bought Frank has a flashback to when he was eight, he gets beaten up by loads of kids and his dad and his mum are arguing. Its really bad and cheesy with eighties cop show music playing that really doesn't suit the scene

I thought the episode where, I think Dani had run Kane down, and she was standing in the stairs talking straight into the camera, was kind of different. She was talking about the night when she had hit Kane, and there were flashbacks. She was really upset and thought she was going crazy. The whole episode were about Dani talking about her thoughts about the accident. We didn`t get to know that she was talking to Hayley before the very end of the episode. I really liked that episode.
