Saw 3 and Summer Bay Stalker similarities

There is a scene in Saw 3 which is almost identical to the scene where Eve has Peter captured in the Abbatoir. The character Amanda has her victim captive in a room, she says "Game Over" and then slams the sliding door shut.

This is identical to the scene in Home and Away which aired months before the release of Saw 3.

Wonder if the makers of Saw 3 are Home and Away fans??

I think it's the other way around. There was an identical scene at the end of Saw II, which was released before Zoe's return.

I remember us discussing it at the time that it seemed like a ripoff of Saw II

can't say i remember much about saw 3 as i had my eyes shut for most of it (that film was majorly messed up, saw 2 was ok) but if home and away were trying to copy any of the films they didn't do a very good job, can't say i was scared throughout the stalker storyline but i was with the saw films.

I really must pay more attention, I've seen Saw 2 but found then all a bit confusing.

I saw the ripoff straight away, but that is because I love the ending of Saw II !

How funny. Who'd have thought a few years back in the 90s when it was all sun and sand that we'd have ever been comparing scenes in Home and Away with a gruesome horror movie.

Hee! The rip-off was cool. Zoe and Amanda are both badasses so it's okay. And besides, the section of the abattoir where Zoe took Peter looked very similiar to the bathroom used in Saw too.

Because of this rip off, I managed to write a oneshot. So yes, the ripoff of Saw II did turn out to be a cool thing.

All they need to ripoff now is Reservoir Dogs, with the cutting off the ear and dancing to a super cool tune.
