Yeah I also remember an episode before she married Flynn about changing her surname to Saunders. She didn't want to be Sally Saunders and he didn't want to change his name to Flynn Fletcher. So they compromised and agreed for Sally to remain Sally Fletcher. It suits her better than Sally Saunders!

Originally though she was going to change it. The kids at school asked her about her name and she said that she'd be "Mrs Saunders".

Then she had that conversation with Flynn and I'm glad she did actually as it wouldn't be the same without a Fletcher in the show. Name-wise at least.

Yes I agree, and Sally Saunders doest sound right anyway, it sounds really fake! Glad they kept Fletcher!

I notice some of the pictures in the avatar gallery are labelled "Sally Saunders" though.

I sometimes think it's odd that more women don't keep their maiden names. So much has changed but it is rarely questioned that the wife takes her husband's name. Trivia alert - women who didn't change their names on marriage were once called "Lucy Stoners" after a 19th century American feminist who famously kept her name.

I'm a male and I think it's very out-dated. I don't see why everyone can't just keep their own name.
