brad92 Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 I know this is a bit behind the time but its been bugging me ever since it happened. Why was Leyton Hewitt in Home and Away back in the 2005 season. Was their a purpose to it?
Drew Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 No. I didn't even get what his role was. Hayley bumbed into him while she was in a rush and he's like "Hang on, have we met mefore?" Something along those lines... Thought it was quite stupid.
Dean Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 It was a completely pointless cameo appearance. No follow up, just a publicity stunt to get Bec Cartwright's boyfriend onto the show.
mitchiev91 Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 there was no purporse - he got on the show because he was banging Bec at the time
brad92 Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 I always thought of it as a surpirse on Bec. She seemed rather stunned when she first saw him on set. And he was acting as if he was talking to Bec and not Hayley. All rather strange.
alexx Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 It didn’t affect the show in anyway, so who cares if there was a point to it or not? It was just a cameo appearance, with an ‘in-joke’ – similarly to many previous cameo appearances from all sorts of ‘celebrities’. Though I guess for everyone outside of Australia it may have been confusing.
emmasi Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 It would have made sense if they had have just said "This is Leyton Hewitt. He's a tennis star. Fawn over him." Then he and Hayley could have flirted to their hearts content, and it might have made a shred of sense. I honestly don't know what they were thinking.
Pierced Musie Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 The problem that UK'ers had was that, if you were not a tennis fan, you had no idea who he was. He just came off as a sleeze !
Belle. Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 I thought it was pretty pointless... not to mention he cant act. Maybe he should stick to tennis...
