Now i will be the first to admit that i couldn't wait all that time to watch it so i downloaded the episode a while ago. When watching tonight i noticed that the last section had been edited. In particular there was a scene with Brad and Sally at the start when they were talking before they kissed which we never saw. Also half of that scene with the Silent Night song had been edited out as well. I am not sure why they would decide to edit the episodes at this point as the end of the episode is the most important part. Maybe because the news was going to start a couple of minutes late, but so what, it was the final episode and for people who don't download episodes they would have missed out. I will watch the omnibus episodes on Sunday to see if they play the full episode but i doubt it. Maybe because it is the end of the week im easily annoyed but i find it quite annoying that they would decide to do this.
lilaccat Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Yea I noticed at the start they had the 1st scene where colleen brings lance in then it seemed to skip to the caravan park house - Brad was in both places at the same time. But I definitely noticed missing out the whole bit with Brad and Sally which was really stupid - they just cut into the middle of them kissing and then Sal said something about taking back what she'd said earlier - she didnt have to as we didnt even hear what she had said earlier - it was annoying

I know I missed the season finale today but I sort of know what happens eventhough I didn't download the season finale but editting it just to fit the news in at exactly 6pm made us miss some scenes is just annoying. Oh well, guess I'll have to watch either the Omnibus of the repeat on Monday for it. Altho, couldn't TV3 have cut down on the commercials for the show if they knew it was going to be a few minutes longer than usual?

I didn't realise that the episode ran for about 45 minutes, but we didn't see that montage everyone was talking about which would have taken up about 5 minutes i guess. It just seems a shame since it was the season final episode and all.

That’s a shame they didn’t show the episode in full – I’m surprised it was 45 mins over here, it didn’t feel that long…the montage took up most of the time though, I said it when it first aired here, I knew it wouldn’t be shown in other countries..lots of people said 'of course it will'!

Drew Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 The episode probably would of went for 40 minutes as it normally starts 5 minutes late Anyway, I mentioned this somewhere else. The montage wasn't part of the actual episode, it was done by Seven, so that could be another reason why you guys didn't get it.

As mentioned, the montage was a special thing done by 7, so I wasn't expecting us to get that anyway, but I hope the episode doesn't get edited down to fit the 30-minute time slot! Maybe they will do it as an hour long special, or would it not fit that amount of time? I guess only time will tell. I just hope the episode isn't butchered! As one of Five's top-rated shows, I would hope they do their best with the season finale!

Im guessing it would be quite difficult to get the show to go for an hour without having more commercial breaks. I knew that we wouldn't get the montage but i didn't think they would edit some of the good bits out so it would fit into a half hour timeslot. Tomorrow we have the omnibus here so i will have to try and remember to watch to see if the whole episode is played then and also the episode is repeated on Monday mornings here. I hope you guys in the UK get to see the whole episode in a few weeks when it is aired over there.
