Enjoy Chapter 20 4 months later Martha was now 7 months pregnant so that would make Nicole 11 months. Martha and Jack had never been happier well, in Jack’s eyes. Martha however was harbouring a secret that could spell the end of her marriage; if anyone ever found out. But someone already knew. The question was, who? Martha was walking along the beach with Nicole. Nicole was running like a mad child as she had recently learned to walk. Tony said she was like Jack; an eager child always in a hurry to get places therefore bumping into things. “Hey” Macca said as he saw her and Nic walking towards him. “Hey, how are you?” Martha asked him. “Well I would be a lot better if I knew my sister was not having an affair with...” Macca began. “What?” Martha said, “What are you talking about?” she asked him. “I know and to be honest, I don’t think I can keep it to myself” he said. “I am not having an affair” she tried defending herself. “Come on Mac. I saw you all those months ago on the cliffs and, the way you two were acting at last week at Nic’s birthday party was more than just..” but again was cut off again. “If you think I would cheat on Jack then you’re mistaken and you’re crazy. I love him more than anything” she said to him and walked away. “More than…” Macca called after her. “Macca, I’m warning you” she stormed back up to him. “If I was cheating on my husband do you think I would flaunt it in front of him at our daughter’s 1st birthday party? Do you think I would have kept this baby if I didn’t love him or was having an affair?” she tried to reason with him but she was sounding more and more guilty. Three hours later Macca was walking into the surf club where he ordered a large drink. He was in a predicament; should his loyalties lie with his family or his best friend? Martha was at home. She was meant to be having a lie down but instead she was texting him. The man’s phone was sitting in front of him at Noah’s when it started to bleep. “Macca knows” the text read. He looked around and then text her back. “What? How? We need to talk” he replied. Martha was sitting when he arrived and she knew it was a bad idea but, since Jack was out with Nicole, it wasn’t too risky. “Hey” she said as she opened the door. “Hi” he said. “What’s going on?” he added. “Well Macca saw us the day I found out I was pregnant and now he’s threatening to tell Jack” she cried. “Do you love me?” he said. “What?” she answered him. “I said do you love me?” he said it again. “Yes but” she said. “No buts. We will tell Jack together” he said to her. “No we can’t, he must never know” she said, “I love him too much” she cried harder this time. “But you just said you loved me” he said confused. “I do, I love you both. I need to make a choice and I choose my husband so go, just go please” she said and with that he left. Jack had just finished work and was heading down to Noah’s for a quick swift half before he went home to the missus. He noticed Macca sitting there looking depressed and decided to buy him another drink and went over to him. “Come on mate what’s with the long face?” Jack said to Macca. Macca was just looking at his drink, “So a lady then?” Jack asked. “Jack, what would you do if you knew someone was having an affair behind their husbands back?” Macca asked him. “Erm I don’t know” Jack said, “I suppose if it was me I would have to know” he added. “Right ok thanks” Macca said and downed his drink “Just going the loo, get them in Jacky boy” Macca said to him and walked off. Macca had come back from the toilet. He saw Jack at the bar he knew what he had to do. “I’ll have to go soon mate, the missus will wonder were I am” he joked. “Right” Macca said. “Well I best be going” Jack said as he finished his drink “Seeya” he added and walked off. “Jack, wait” Macca said. Will Macca really tell Jack? Will he betray his sister?

beckyboo Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 Thanks to Sian for proofing Here is the next part Macca and Jack were just standing in the middle of the surf club, with Macca so desperately wanting to tell his best mate and brother in law about his sister's affair. “You just gonna stand there all night mate or do you want to tell me something!” Jack enquired “Well just that well I seen Martha and well she, she” Macca began, could he do this to his own sister? he thought. “Well she what” Jack said worriedly “She’s not herself” Macca couldn't do it to his sister. “Of course she’s not mate she’s 7 months pregnant” Jack laughed Martha was sitting at home sobbing into her hands when she heard Jack car approaching the drive way, Martha ran into the bathroom and rushing into the shower so she didn't have to face Jack yet. “Baby you home” Jack called out as he came in “Yer im in the shower can you get Nic ready for bed please” Martha said, trying to act calmly. The last thing she wanted was for Jack to think there was something wrong and ask questions. she hated lieing to him. “Sure” He replied oblivious to her betrayal. ………………………………………………………………………………….. Jack was sitting on the sofa whilst Martha put Nicole to bed, when there was a knock on the door. Jack got up and walked over to the door “Dad hey come in” Jack said “Look son I don’t know exactly what Macca told you but me and Martha didn't plan any of this” Tony began to say but when he noticed the look of confusion, saddness, shock and anger wash over his son, he realised the mistake he made. “Dad what are you talking about!” Jack said finally “Oh Jack im so sorry you really didn't have a clue did you” Tony said “About what?” Jack demanded raising his voice and getting angry Martha could hear Jacks raised voice and Nicole was not going to sleep so she brought her back out to see what was going on. “What the hell is going on Jack, im trying to get Nicole to sleep” Martha said but froze when she saw the look on Tonys face Tony looked at Martha and said “Im so sorry I though he knew” “Dad. Martha whats going on” Martha just looked at Tony and then at the ground as her tears welled up in her eyes “Oh my god no please say no, you two are having an affair aren’t you” Jack said, he ahd to say it outloud because syaing it in his head, made it twisted and unbelievable. “Not anymore” Tony said trying to jusify the reasooning behind it all. Jack couldn't stand the though of his wife and father and with one swift motion his fist went flying into Tonys face. “How could you’s do this” jack said sadly Martha just looked up at him and started to cry “I’m sorry I was an idiot” she cried “Oh so that makes it ok does it” Jack said sarcastically “Im not saying that” “How long” Jack shouted starling Nicole who was now crying in her mummy’s arms “What” Tony asked, he knew what he said but asked to make sure. “How long have you two been together” Jack said “9 months” Tony said guilty. Jack looked at Martha and then at her swollen tummy, “Is the baby mine” Jack asked “What” Martha said “Is the baby mine or is it my brother or sister” Jack said disgustedly “I... I don’t know” Martha said breaking down Jack just stood there looking at the two of them in disgust “So what was it, having a good laugh at my expense were you” Jack cried “No it wasn’t like that” Martha said “Dad can you please leave now, yano what infact get the hell of my house” Jack yelled Tony left leaving Martha and Jack alone in the house. Nicole was now sitting on the couch as Martha and Jack just looked at each other “Why?” Jack asked sadly “I have no idea it just happened and once it started it was impossible to stop” she cried Jack just looked at Martha and walked off towards their bedroom and started to pack his bags, Martha followed him “Jack please don’t go” she cried “No way im not staying here with a little slut” he said harshly “Ok I derseved that” Martha said “You deserve a lot more just thank your lucky stars your pregnant” jack said as he walked into the living room. He picked Nicole up and turned to Martha and said “You don’t deserve to be her mother” “No please, don’t take my baby away please” Martha begged. Jack just walked out the house towards the driveway and down to the car whilst Martha was running after him screaming for him to give her back her daughter, Jack just got in the car and drove away with Martha screaming hystically for her daughter. Preview Will Martha ever see Nicole again What does the future hold for the Holden family.
