Bloom Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 Seriously... she annoys me she makes the worst faces, like the time when she kept getting angry at amanda over the graham thing, her facial expressions were awful! and the time when mattie first revealed her burn, beth just sat there and showed no reaction, and like she didnt care, and mattie was scared and upset!

I wouldn't say I hate her exactly, I've just never warmed to her, I dont think she was ever really given a chance though since she was portrayed as a victim from the very begginning when she first arrived and Rhys cheated on her. Shes a bit soppy for my liking!

It's easy to forget how great Beth was up until 2005 when she was shunted out of Summer Bay House and stuck in the background forever more. Before then, she was a really great character, and she still is when she has good strong scenes to play. It's understandable to think she isn't really needed because she has been very underused by Daniel Bennett who just stuck her with Tony and left them alone, wheras I believe Bevan Lee's intention was to focus a lot more on Beth and her struggle as a single mother. She really shines when she has good strong storylines (which Coral, Bevan and Daniel have all given her at some point or another), such as Rhys' betrayal, her rocky relationship with her father, and of course her countless "My kids are dead, oh no they're not" stories, which could get tiring but Clarissa plays the part so well, they never do.
Danifan Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 I don't hate Beth but i do strongly dislike her. I've always found her really boring and as a fan of Rhys and Shelley i was rooting for them to get back together. I find her too irritatingly nice and saintly but at the same time so judgemental and critical that she is really hard to warm too. Also now she's with Tony she's become a bit redundant especially as Matilda doesn't seem to have any storylines at the minute either.

She's had some great stuff with Amanda and a more recent scene which sticks out is when her and Mattie come to terms with Robbie and Kit being "dead". Clarissa is a great actress, just stuck in the background a lot.
Robina Fox Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 She's not a very interesting character, rather too much "just a mum". Her reactions are always very predictable, and with relationships she seems to slip into the "old married couple" routine very quickly. In real life she's be a comfortable person to have around, but in a drama she just fades into the background. Her hair is much better lately though!

Im still peeved off at her about that Tony incident when she wanted to use Tony's money to go to Boston which Jack was lying in hospital, or was at home cant remember. She's selfish

Plus how the hell does she get a man like Tony, I mean I'm only 25 but for an older man he is gorgeous. She also has one of the worst wardrobes, although so does Leah (always wearing those cross over tops)
