What would the characters be like?

I recently remembered a clip once posted a year or so ago (possibly by Kark or Valk) of Irene 'swearing like a sailor'. A member (quite possibly Ste) commented that if H&A was aired in a later timeslot and wasn't censored to suit a younger audience, (s)he would imagine Irene to speak in such a way.

This memory led me to wonder, how do you think the characters would be shown to behave and speak if this was the case?

Would Irene 'Eff & Jeff'? Would Cassie sleep with anything in pants? Would Morag have expressed her true feelings for Josie?

If I could import a character from another TV show into H&A, it would be Shane - and she would be with Kit.

But that's another thread altogether... :P

They'd be a lot more swearing from Dan the past few weeks probably, given all the strife he got from Drew. That's the one thing that always snaps me back to reality with tv shows, in a situation like some of the characters have been in, you would swear once, whether it was accidental or purposely.

I could see Ric being alot more violent, like Ryan from The OC if H&A was in a later timeslot.

And characters can use the word 'Bitch' when it's appropiate. I can't remember if H&A has ever used it, but Neighbours have a few times. And language like that gives a great impact, not "That stupid cow"

Karen and Steve from Corrie were having a fight once and she said "flippin'" a fair few times. It was really unrealistic.

Robbie and Kim would be in a loving comitted and adult relationship without having to deny their true feelings. If not, one of them would have at least tried to hit on the other. So much unresolved sexual tension between them.

The deaths would be shown, the making out would be more agressive (and - *gasp* - allowed to be amongst hommosecsewals :o!), there might even be some bedroom scenes. I don't mean anything raunchy (how late are we going?) just laying down with each other and kissing. Stuff like that. You know the sort.

I can't really think of specific character changes, but yeah, I imagine everyone would be swearing a lot more. Except Sally. I can't imagine Sally ever swearing unless she was really upset.

They should just do a spin-off series about Josie's brothel. And all the guys I like could be regular clients... Yeah, that might be a show for late night SBS...

The Cassie and Macca scenes would be more intense and probably more violent, with Macca swearing as he hits her.

The fallout, with Ric and those close to Cassie, would be extremely violent.

I don’t think just because they show was aired at a later time slot the characters would all of a sudden start swearing or change personalities (i.e Cassie wouldn’t sleep with every man in the Bay because that isn’t her character).

I think Irene would most of the time not swear, but I could definitely hear her sobbing ‘bast-ard - (in case it didn’t show up)!!’ during extreme times…

But I reckon the show would remain pretty much the same, however there would be a few loose words from guesties and ‘baddies’ also things would be a lot more graphic (such as sally’s stabbing maybe?) – they would probably be more obvious in the sex department and instead of sating ‘attack’ they would use rape….stuff like that.

I think they would have explored Josie's background a bit more, and her character in general. (I remember Laurie saying she wanted to explore more about Josie being a brothel madame but the time slot wouldn't allow it).

I think the whole Angie/Nick/Dylan storyline would have been a lot darker. As would the KK/Dani saga I think.

I don't think it's out of character for Irene to swear in everyday language. You get people like that all the time who just swear sentence after sentence. Not because they are angry or upset but just because it's how they talk and I think Irene would be a little bit like that (perhaps more in her early days than now).

There are a lot of things that the show just hints at (such as that girl at Matilda's retreat being "found in the toilets", and that member of Johnny's gang mysteriously disappearing) which I think would be explored more and not left so much up to the imagination, not that that's always a bad thing.
