Anyone else who doesn't care about Emily?

Yeah but guys if you were just introduced to a man and his wife as Sally has, and then find out she is dieing of cancer are you telling me because you don’t know her you couldn’t empathise with her, we are all human and have a lot in common with each other even if we don’t know each other personally. We aren’t going on Emily’s journey, we are going on Brad and Sally’s, especially Sally’s – how she is coping with facing something which to her is all too personal. But we are too seeing how Emily is coping with such an illness. When this aired in Australia I actually enjoyed it and like how private this storyline was, to Sally Brad and Emily.

I agree Alexx, I don't see the difficulty in empathising with Emily, even caring about her. I explained in another thread that when I look at her I see a young woman who should be about to embark upon the happiest time of her life, but she knows it's going to end so soon. I don't really need to have known a character for a long time to understand how tragic that is, and subsequently feel some emotion about it.

Emily wasnt me favourite character, but I did feel abit sorry for her and she was very kind

Yeah, maybe I sounded horrible before, I didnt mean to. I just mean that people shouldnt feel terrible for not being totally involved with the storyline because w dont know them.

And I didnt really pay attention to the storyline, to be honest i dont like things like that, my cousin is dieing of Lukemia as I have allready said on this board lol im not going on about it honest. Its just quite hard to get really involved with a storyline when you dont particully know the people involved,

Im not interested in Emily either - she seems nice and all that but because I dont know her as a character I dont feel that much sympathy for her. I think she is just a plot device for Brad.

It's not that I don't care, it's hard not to care with that storyline, it's just that she's only been there a few days and already a lot of the show is revolving around her, and its just too much too soon. She seems like a nice enough character but lets face it she's only there to die as soon as possible so that brad can move on with sally.

Nope it's not just you! I honestly don't give about Emily and how Brad is keeping his feelings in. I don't think I'm being rude because they're both fictitious characters. It's just weird for newcomers to have such a dramatic storyline.
