Yeah, she was called into the office just as the news was announced that H&A was being sold to the UK, and was told her character was 'being rested' as 'with the size of the cast, some of them get lost and don't appear on screen'

And I believe it was at that point that Helena gave up acting, realising that it wasn't a secure future.

Possibly! But even so they could always have recasted, I guess we'll have to go with the thought that after returning to her family (I think?), that part of her life is maybe one she'd like to put behind her.

Yes I agree, they could have recast. Her other foster brothers and sisters returned for her "wedding" (apart from Bobby for obvious reasons)

Wasn't she then raised by her Grandma until her Grandma died, which is when she joins the Fletchers?

Yes, I think her grandma had alzheimer's meaning Sally missed out on school because she was busy looking after her. The school were worried about her, and when they found out about her not so stable home life they sent her into foster care...or so I read somewhere. Can't remember where though...
