People keep talking about cliffhangers, and I know what the Olympic cliffhanger is, but I don't get why it's called cliffhanger, and what's cliffhangers and what isn't! I get the olympic part of course, but what is a cliffhanger? Sorry for asking such stupid questions Thanks in advance!

Skykat Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 The cliffhanger in that storyline just referred to the dramatic scene where it left you wondering who had died. The post and past were just talking about the events before and after. Cliffhanger can refer to anything at all that leaves you not knowing something but it tends to be applied to dramatic storylines.

Like Skykat says, a cliffhanger is when a story leaves you wondering will happen next. It's nearly always very dramatic eg who has been killed/who the killer is/can someone be rescued in time etc The idea is to make sure the viewer tunes in for the next episode. Hope that helps!
