Holly Brisley's acting

Okay I want to first of all say I have NOTHING AT ALL against Holly, she seems like a sweet person. This topic is just an opinion

Her acting on HAA is awful at times! Her voice just changes a lot and goes all 'spolit sounding' and it's fake and cringeworthy! She sometimes overracts, I seriously could watch the recent scenes with Belle, when she shouted at Irene in the hospital about not telling her Belle was in there, and at the party yesterday in the UK when she shouted at Cassie. Sorry, but it was so fake and not convincing at all. A lot of the time, it's like seeing a child in a really bad play

Also, this is to do with a recent Aussie episode:

When those theives were robbing her before she got locked in the closet with Pete, her acting was terrible! She cant act scared, and the face she kept making. I felt so embarrassed and sorry for her

Sorry to any fans, but she needs to do something about her acting.

Are we allowed to criticise the acting like this? Oh well, might as well put my two pence worth in. I don't think Holly is ever going to win any awards for her acting ability (except maybe a Logie, and we all know what those are based on). However, I think she gets away with it because her character is meant to be false and unbelievable. In fact sometimes it's hard to tell if she's doing it deliberately or not. And I definitely don't think she's the worst actor in soap, by any means.

Personally I think thats how she is supposed to be to suit the character like claire_louise said.

I agree with claire louise, Amanda is meant to be false and unbelievable as well her character background arriving in Summer Bay was as a failed actress looking for a fresh start.

I'd heard that Holly had just won one award for a Australian film she'd appeared in, I think it was a comedy film. I'd reserve judgment if Holly was given a serious role to play.

But I love Amanda, she's one of the highlights especially her battles with Irene.

I have had discussions about this before. I think Amanda is a C-list actress who doesn't know when to stop acting, and that's how Holly plays her. I don't think Holly is the most amazing actress in the world but I do credit her enough to assume she deliberately plays Amanda this way.

She only shows her true self very occasionally (in conversations with Dan for example or when she was crying with Kitty about her "dead" baby), and those are rare moments we see the real Amanda. The rest of the time she is puting on an act. So I think that's why Holly plays her like a bad actress - because that's what Amanda is!

I don't think that Holly is the greatest actress that there is, but I do agree with those that say that she plays Amanda really well, after all Amanda isn't a great actor either, and she shows that very well.

i actually disagree, i think holly is a good actress and i couldnt imagine anyone else playing amanda, to be able to play two sides to a character is very hard and you have to be able to be a good actor to do that. but thats just my opinion

she used the money to help find the people who got lost in the helicopter accident because amongst them was belle i think thats right anyway.
