No that made a lot of sense to me and you're spot on. They could have really given Sam some emotional depth, I'd have loved to see her break down to Martha and confide about her insecurities because of how Shane treated her for example. I guess I always loved kit/ Noah because I could really emphasise with Kit, feeling ugly in relation to gorgeous Hayley (not that Kit was ugly but she felt ugly, if you get me). Because of her insecurities I really warmed to her and desperately wanted Noah to pick her and Sam had the same potential when she first arrived but they failed to make us connect with Sam. It was like we were meant to ASSUME that she has all these insecurites but we were never really given time to really get ton know her character and therefore warm to her. As a result people find it hard to take to her and hard to understand why she's acting the way she is. Plus throw into that the fact she's keeping a popular couple apart and you have a character that becomes incredibly hard to defend.

The assumptions they expect us to make on the show in general is one of its major downfalls. Like when Lucas got back this week and Sam said something about having to catch up with later. We havn't seen any sort of bonding between her and him to believe that they would actually have anything to talk about. She's meant to be marrying into that family and it's like the only person she knows is Jack and to a much lesser extent recently Tony.

I LOVE the idea of her breaking down about her insecurities. :D That sounds like a much better scene then we'd get on the show. Actually that reminds me of when Jack was shot a little while ago and she had just seen him. If you noticed in the background just before Tony rushes in Martha hugs her and it looks like she's just toally broken down with her. Pity it was over in a space of about two seconds. If only they could expand on it a little more.

Yeah that all sounds nice in theory but I'm beyond caring about Sam's issues and insecurities. I never liked the character the first time round because the way they wrote her was so obvious i.e. awwww, poor Sam, we should feel sorry for her, such a hard life. They were force feeding pity and I couldn't stand it. Then they combined her with someone who we were also meant to feel sorry for; Jack, and his whole poor me, my wife dumped me and I'm stuck in a wheel chair routine. Put together: gruesome twosome. And it's not just her paranoia in relation to Martha that I can't stand. It's the way she talks down to people, as though she exists on some higher plane. Also it's the way she always talks as though the weight of the world is on her shoulders and life is such a draaaaaag. Frankly, I don’t want character development at this late stage. I just want the character to disappear. :)

She's the stalker. She just HAS to be! I feel like I could almost forgive what a hideous disgusting human being she is... if it was all completely on purpose; if she really IS the evil psycho biatch she appears to be. It would almost make this infuriating hatred worthwhile! And it would be really funny to watch the Sam lovers do a U-turn when she starts trying to openly assault and kill their favourite characters

It's her... it's always been her...

I really think that Sam is literally the most irritation character there has ever been on any TV show. I properble cannot stand her. I used to love Jack and Martha and I with they were still together but this storyline has made with neither of them were in the show because then there would be no reason to have sam in the show!

I'm really disappointed with what they've done with Sam's character. I really, really liked her when she first arrived, I thought she was a breath of fresh air in the never ending circle of Jack and Martha. I have nothing against Jack and Martha, I do think they genuinely love each other but I think they're one of those couples that just don't suit being together if that makes sense. They just want such vastly different things, anyway back to sam :P

I liked her relationship with Jack, I thought she bought out a different side to his character, a more settled one, with Martha it was always more about the spark, with Sam he seemed to have a real depth.

However since this wedding she has become really neurotic. I get that she's jealous of Martha and to be honest she probably has a right to be, Jack still does have feelings for her after all but she's going about things all wrong. All her actions are going to end up doing is causing a rift between her and Jack.

I think the writers have started to see her more as a pawn in the martha/ Jack circle rather than making her a character in her own right and if this doesn't sound completely harsh, I kind of feel they're deliberatly making her character a hate figure in order to win the doubters over to wanting Jack and Martha back together again. Does that make any sense?

I agree. I don't dislike Sam because she's keeping jack and martha apart, i just don't like the character. Ever since she came back to the show, the writer's have completely changed her character to make her more disliked. She blames martha for all her and jacks problems, but it's really her that's pushing her away with her jealousy.

Why should they get rid of her? It would be much more interesting to explore the opportunities Sam has as a character...

She is annoying now, but can you blame her? She's been through so much, and at the end of the day, she just wants to be happy with Jack.

She's paranoid now, but with the way Martha acts, it's understandable.

I would like to see her in the role as victim for the most dangerous stalker ever, Martha Mackenzie

Can't argue with that anymore. It's too late to develop anything because she's already been established as such an irritating character. I don't want to have much of 2008 wasted on her. <_<
