I love music Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 One of the actresses in Holby City (UK show) died unexpectedly. They wrote the character out by saying she won the lottery and left without telling anyone. Oh I'd forgotten that. Didn't she fall off a balcony or something? That was horrific. Home and Away are pretty imaginative compared to most soaps so if something happened I'm sure they would come up with a good way of handling the character's absence without being disrespectful to the actor. Laura Sadler. She had a major part in Grange Hill and her character, Judi, was killed about three years ago, ironically in a fall from a school window.
Guest Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 John Ritter (I think that's his name) died when he was still starring in 8 Simple Rules, and they killed off the character as well. I think they thought it would be inappropriate to recast him, and I don't think it would be right for someone like Sally or Alf to be recast either if the worst were to happen. Purely because of their history with the show, and I don't think the majority of viewers would be happy to see them replaced. Of course I could be wrong, but I'd hate to see another actress/actor play Sally/Alf. I remeber John Ritter he was cool I miss him and now that it finished yeh I don't like the sound of recasting Alf btw cause Alf can either leave the bay with someone else or he could be killed off (which I don't like to see )
emmasi Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 John Ritter will always be "Ted" from Buffy to me. I think the reason that Bec was recast after seven years was because the writers didn't feel like stuffing up all their storylines for the rest of the year because she decided to skip out on her contract. If she had died, I think they might have worked out something different.
Oxidizer Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 John Ritter will always be "Ted" from Buffy to me. Same here. The Laura Sadler stuff was sad - I liked her as an actress and she had a cool character in Holby City.
katya Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 I remember him in Buffy, and I remember thinking how creepy he was. When I first watched 8 Simple Rules I knew that I knew his face from somewhere but I couldn't think where. I was also surprised to be watching Scrubs a few weeks back and he was in (although it was a blink and you'll miss it moment).
Oxidizer Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Oh! That reminds me, I also remember him as that asshole cop in Bride of Chucky, how I hated him back then!
katya Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Bride of Chucky! What a god-awful film. The first Chucky film traumatised me though. I couldn't sleep for ages after watching it.
Oxidizer Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Hee , same here! I only liked BOC because of Tiffany. She's so freakin' homicidally adorable.
