Rebecca also went out with Steven Matheson for a while. Whilst they were going out, Steven told Rebecca that he had had a relationship with Selina - he was still teaching at this point. Rebecca was disgusted. I can't remember though if she told Donald 1st or Irene.

By the way, on the Back to the Bay website, it says that she died on 11th November 2005 instead of 2006.

I will change it. I wrote it whilst dinner was in the microwave and so I didn't read it over because my stomach was rumbling. :D

Its odd because i was only reading a thread somewhere on this site yesterday or the day before possibly the random picture thread one but im not sure cant remember but people were talking about her and didnt realise she was sick and then today i come on here and read these threads!

Yeah I mentioned in that thread that the reason she looked so different in the "then and now" photos was because of her cancer & I said she was a fighter.

Cant believe she lost her fight :(

Rebecca and Travis had a song, they got the group to sing it on the beach – it was three sisters and I cant believe I have forgot their name, they were pretty popular in 1997.

Its vague now so I might be recalling it not 100% accurately, but when BE played Rebecca in 1996, there was some really gripping ad emotional scenes involving her and Donald Fisher. It was about Marylyn, and her disapproval…it also had an underlying issue about how she felt regarding his relationship with Bobby and how much she hated the way her relationship had been with him. At the end of one of the scenes Donald and her are both in tears as Don resists a touching poem about who he thinks Marilyn is and where he feels he is in his life, regret, emotion, grief…etc Its really annoying I had it on tape, but I don’t understand it has vanished.

I agree Rebecca wasn’t exactly a character with a whole load of action thrown at her, but during her time I think she really helped stabilise the show as Pippa left and her ad Travis were a huge hit with the fans, everyone wanted them to be happy and in the end they were both free-spirits/travellers and suited each other more so than their previous relationships…

There's a message from Rove on the hompage of his website saying he has no plans for the show for the rest of the year,he needs time out.He thanks everyone for all the support and says it means a lot Belinda meant so much to so many.

I thought she was over her cancer so it was a shock to read on here that she died.

She was music teacher at Summer Bay High when she arrived.

Alexx...all of what you said is true. She felt 2nd best to Bobby and didn't get along with Marilyn to begin with but warmed to her. From there I can't help as I can't remember the rest and Prime stopped showing the old eps here in NZ.

I seem to remember that Delta Goodrem wrote a song for her that's on her latest album.

I can't even begin to understand what Rove is going through but I'm sure he knows everyone is thinking of him and the rest of her family. R.I.P Belinda.

This is such sad news. Cancer is such a horrible, destroying illness and the more money cancer research get to battle against it...the more chance people like Belinda have of beating the disease.

Not being from Australia I don't really know much about Rove McManus or his show until it appeared on Neighbours. I didn't realise she had cancer until I watched the logies that I think Valkyrie uploaded on here and read a random post regarding how much the cancer had taken its toll. It's sad that she managed to beat it so many times but it still ended up claiming her life.

I really feel for her family, especially her husband.

A tribute's a great idea but I don't have anything to add to other suggestions, the tribute video sounds good. Ste has done some good tribute videos to characters like Bobby over on his site, maybe something like that'd be nice.
