What about Kim Cooper? She appeared on Big Brother.

Ya but that was only in Australia and was years ago, we're talking about people who have gone onto global fame here.

He was being sarcastic.

I don't think Dani Minogue is the most well known. Heath/Julian and Isla are more well known than her. Even if people do know of her, most only know her as Kylie's sister, or the singer, not that she's from H&A.

I didn't mean that she was well known for being in H&A (she's not, I agree), but I do think she's the most well known in general, even if it's just for being Kylie's sister.

There's no way Dani is better known than Heath. Think about it: with a population of around 300 million who in the US is going to have heard of Dani Minogue, compared to Heath Ledger, who's a big heartthrob over there. Even in Aus I'd say Heath is now far better know, not sure about the UK.

As for most successful, if you're going to judge it not by popularity but by what they've done with their careers I'd be going for Guy Pearce. He's made some fab films - Momento and LA Confidential are two of my favs.

How well known is Judy Nunn for her writing; could she be a candidate in a different way?

And I don't mean this as cruel, but how well known is Rebecca Hewitt for BEING Rebecca Hewitt?

TV Week online have a webpage on all ex-HAA stars who because successful. Here is it

Dannii Minogue: if it was good enough for Kylie (on Neighbours), it was good enough for Dannii, who played Emma Jackson. Dannii, who met Julian McMahon on the set and was briefly married to him, was mercilessly sent up in the long-running "Dumb Street" sketches on Fast Forward.

Julian McMahon: the son of former Prime Minister William McMahon, ex-model Julian got one of his first acting gigs in Home And Away before moving to the USA where he's had success in TV shows like Charmed and Nip/Tuck, and movies like Fantastic Four.

Justine Clarke: as scheming Roo Stewart, she was reviled for getting between Bobby and Frank (Alex Papps), but went on to become beloved by children for her appearances on Play School and the darling of critics for her performances in the TV show The Surgeon and the film Look Both Ways.

Naomi Watts: after playing Revhead's wheelchair-bound sister Julie, Naomi struggled for years to get her US career off the ground before Mulholland Dr finally brought her to the world's attention. She's since become a sought-after Hollywood actress and was nominated for an Oscar for 21 Grams.

Melissa George: from being a champion rollerskater, Melissa went on to become half of Summer Bay's "it" couple to rival Scott and Charlene, Shane and Angel. She became famous for being one of the highest-paid but most unemployed actresses in Hollywood because she would constantly be signed up for series that never made it past pilot stage, while getting paid out for the whole season. Melissa finally made it big in Alias and her career has gone from strength to strength.

Simon Baker-Denny: He eventually dropped the "Denny" and went on to star in TV's The Guardian and in movies like Land Of The Dead and The Devil Wears Prada.

Isla Fisher: This multi-talented actress wrote two novels while appearing on Home And Away and went on to star in movies like Wedding Crashers.

Heath Ledger: Before he became a huge star in Brokeback Mountain, Heath played a love interest for Summer Bay's Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie).

Rebecca Hewitt isn't known in the uk by anyone other than H&A fans (or maybe very devout followers of tennis). She certainly isn't a household name, by any means.

As for Dani, I'm starting to change my opinion. I was going by who is most well known in the uk, which I still think is Dani rather than Heath or Naomi. But others are right in saying that globally, especially in the US, people probably aren't as familiar with her.
