Nicom Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I've been wanting this question answering for aaages, but never got around to asking someone. But it's Wednesday night, and I'm as bored as a bored thing, so I thought now would be as good of a time as any. Was Noah an alcoholic? I've got a bad memory and have totally forgotten. I thought he was, but then I realised about the Noah's bar. It'd be a bit weird for them to open up a bar in rememberance for him if he were an alcoholic. Well I think it would be. Come to think of it, I'm sure I remember at his stag night, Alf was the only one who turned up (aww), he brought beer and I think Noah might have had one... Again, my memory's pants. If someone could help I'd be grateful!
BelieveInMe Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Yeah, he was, but a short time. I think it was because of broking up with Hayley. But I'm not sure.
MarMar Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Alchoholism stays with you your entire life. It cracks me up that they named the bar after him.
Pierced Musie Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Wasn't he a borderline alcoholic? Not a full blown alcoholic like Kit.
Bay_Mad Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I think he was an alcoholic, I remember one scene where Hayley turned up at a party to find him with another girl drunk?? Maybe...
Ryan Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I think it depends on what you define to be alcholicism to be whether you class Noah to be one. It took over his life for 50 episodes, but was rarely mentioned again.
MarMar Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Exactly, but the fact that he did have a problem makes me call him an alchoholic - an entire stroryline was based on it. I blame bad writers for forgetting it and making the bar to preserve his memory. On a "grander scale" it would be like making a new Whiskey (or whatever her preferred drink was) and calling it "Irene"
Pierced Musie Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 You can also get a few shots at a bar. ... *whistles innocently*
deadea Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 You can't be a 'borderline' alcoholic. You can be a 'problem' drinker, ie you can abuse alcohol which may or may not lead to alcoholism down the road, but if you are an alcoholic you are one for life- its a disease- not something cured- or resolved in 50 episodes. Had forgotten about this- the bar thing is a bit of dodgy writing....
